Follow up question: So a 60’s superspeed geometry will be noticeably different than a 50’s superspeed? If that’s the case I might like a 60’s superspeed better than what I’ve tried to date.
I did a quick goo shave a few hours back, used my Flare Tip SS with a Voskhod, fifth use. No problems at all. I did try the Cien X-Bolt AS, and i'd say it's actually really good. I didn't have any irritation, so i can't tell how it would calm it down, but my face feels actually a lot better than with many other aftershaves. The scent is still quite strong at this point. Merry christmas, all!
Sounds like a perfect morning then! Can't have too much menthol or coffee. (well, maybe it's possible but i won't admit it until i experience it)
SOTD 12/23/19 Decent, first mild shave this morning with a Schick Type C2. What I really love, and never considered until becoming active on the shaving boards, is the sheer variety of safety razor tools designed for face and noggin scraping. The mildness of this particular razor required three and a half passes for what turned out to be an acceptable DFS. My shaving surfaces were well protected by the PAA Cube coupled with my trusty MWF. I feel clean and refreshed! RAZOR: Schick Injector Type C2 BLADE: Personna Vintage Blade PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Charcoal-Menthol Cube Preshave Soap BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash of face and dome with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Fine Snake Bite AS Splash
Dec 23rd Proraso PS - Red Martin De Candre SS - Fougère Heritage Collection - Ever Ready 200 w/High Mountain White Pumu 'Special' 89 6/8 Phoenix Artisan Accoutrements - ASB Star Jelly BVLGARI Man - Black Cologne Have an early appointment w/45 minute DFW traffic snarl ahead of me...so a quick post. 3 pass DFS+. The HC Ever Ready HMW Badger and MdC Fougère, made a nice aroma, slick lather today. My first straight, this Puma 'Special' 89 worked through 3 smooth passes, nice & super sharp with plenty of audible feedback that slowly dissipates with each pass, as it is a hollow grind. No nicks or shenanigans. Followed with PAA's Star Jelly for an awesome face feel, then a couple sprays of the BVLGARI Man Black Cologne. Smooth and refreshed for a Monday! Quick poorly lit cell phone image...kinda grainy. Hope everyone has a great Day!
I take it you are of the "more than one" persuasion. . I do one regular at breakfast, one decaf at lunch.
