My (very early) Christmas Day shave.



I received the Broman razor a few days ago after a 26 month wait following their Indegogo campaign, and haven’t had chance to use it until today.

I was able to snag it for the very cheap price of £4 (including postage) as I was one of the first ten backers and, to be honest, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from it.

It’s a mixture of Zamak and plastic and feels much more substantial in the hand than I thought it would. I loaded one of the half-sized Perma-Sharp blades it came with and ended up experiencing a pleasantly smooth and mild shave. There was some noticeable audible feedback which was a good thing as I could barely feel the razor on my face.

I felt it performed better than similar designs I’ve used before (Focus R45, OneBlade Core and Occam’s Oren) and can see me using it quite often in the future. The only problem I have with it is the name - it’s truly awful and really needs to be changed.

I finished off with some Bart’s Balm which rounded off an enjoyable shave.

Well, Decadent December has led us to Christmas Eve. Time to shave and await the sound of an approaching deer-powered aircraft. The boys are planning target practice tonight. Jussssssst kidding. We'll leave the fat guy alone. I decided since it is Christmas Eve and the three ghosts will visit anyone who even suggests we're gunning for Santa, I'd put Matthew the Haunted Razor up to keep them at bay or join their forces. Who knows. Whatever the case, the New SC Deluxe is an amazing razor and with a Voskhod on board I'm in for some high quality shaves. The Stirling badger is up for the brush and, of course, Stirling Christmas Eve has to be the soap of choice.

Three great, smooth passes and I'm all smooth and ready to see what Santa is bringing. Yeah, I know, what hubris to think he would stop after the Cartel threatened his safety. Well, a guy can dream, right? Hope you all have a great night. For those celebrating with family enjoy! For those who may be alone - you're never alone when you've got the 30DC on your side. For those celebrating something other than Christmas - may you have a blessed night/day/week whatever. As I like to say now........
