Danny: You just named my favorite Karve combo! The only difference is that I would substitute a Suneko blade for the Feather
You two are killing me.....have an Enoch waiting back at home...delivery tomorrow, after a mail hold while traveling. Satellite internet....wow. Sometimes just trying to like a post is a minute wait This mornings shave post....almost gave up. Second time a charm. Pushed submit and went to refill my coffee....3-4 minutes and finished. Lots of great details, images and gear! Another crystalline soap (what’s up with dat?), new razor shaped object, new razors, old (and really old) razors, cool holiday soaps, MWF and more! Tomorrow a travel day. 600ish miles. Back Tuesday for last shave of the decade!
Safe travels, Blair. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on the Enoch. My plan is to do a six shave run with it.
Thanks gentlemen. Not sure about my razor review qualifications....but I’ll try. The only artist club safety razor I have for comparison is the O.R.E.N. Enhanced Nano. I like, it’s unique, and a great no brainer shaver, but head design requires extra work for me under the nose (even with Clint’s pointers). One thing I have started thinking on lately as I shave with more setups....is that I seem to do/get better results when using a razor that has lots of blade exposure, but no blade flex (straight, DE or SE). Blade flex, with any razor, usually means slight irritation or worse. 2020 I’ll work through a reduction of several DEs and possibly a straight razor or two that don’t fit that mold.
i think the new sc is one of the best vintage de razors for blade clamping design.same as the post war tech, although the tech is very mild..i am sure there are similar non gillettes out there as well.
