I think I deserve a no focus Focus considering that I recently completed a brutal 6 week Rule.

I'm evaluating different AC blade types now on the DX razor.

I like the Pro Super blades. The specs have them calipering a little thicker and protruding 0.2mm more.

Wonder if that is contributing to the high blade feel you get.

ah yes,i am sure it was..nice shave.the 40s flat bottom techs take a shave for me to dial in after not using them for a while,but after that,with a nice sharp nacet or platinum they deliver fine shaves.

I just want to say this shave was prompted by Jeff @jgreenepa. He wanted me to use this soap with a straight so this one is for you, Jeff. This was the first time that I used my C-Mon brush because I wanted to keep the theme by using my C-Mon straight. This brush has some backbone and the hairs are soft. I just wetted the tips to have a pasty load before I face lathered. I got a nice wet lather that made the razor glide on my face. Did a 2 pass shave without touchups on a 31 hr stubble. Achieved an IBSS+ without any bloodshed or irritation. This was my first straight razor shave with an uber menthol soap and it was a nice experience. I realized why Jeff wanted me to use a straight with Cryogen because the lather stays longer on the face. It is a true test on dealing with an uber menthol lather. Some people have a problem using a highly mentholated soap while straight shaving because they don't feel the blade. Fortunately, I didn't have that experience. I got a nice extra menthol kick from the matching aftershave and didn't get any sting from it. Finished with the Nivea. I really liked this shave. Have a great evening, guys!

That is indeed contributing to the high blade feel. The only difference in Feather AC blades is the blade exposure, or at least that's what the specs show. The guard blades, of course, have the extra guard wires on them but it's still just a basic Feather AC blade with that modification. The mildest of the bunch, in the pink dispenser, barely has any blade exposed at all. The Super, as you know, is right out there "in your face", so to speak. I've always preferred the Feather Pro just because it gets the job done without as much of that "I'm going to cut you now" feel of the Super.

Used extra care today after coming off 'guard' type blades.

I don't expect either of the Focus shavettes to top today's shave, but round 3 or 4, maybe.

Last one of these blades dropped around 3 and was noticeably worse at 4. Since this blade sticks out further, I might see what a few laps on a strop brings.

Thank you, Clint! It is why I bought the brush in the first place. It is a rare thing to have a vintage straight with a corresponding brush that has the same brand name with matching color of the scales and the brush handle.
