  1. Good to hear! That nice little card holder/money clip I got from you a few years ago is a daily driver for me still. Awesome work as always and it has developed a great patina:

  4. After 30 years of cartridge shaving, I'm afraid that I'm the damaged goods. Heavy handed, and if the blade I use isn't cutting well, I only push all the harder. It's my shaving knee-jerk reaction, and knowing only helps sometimes--I'm hoping participation in the 30DC will change 7 years of haphazard wet shaving technique ;)
  5. 35 + years of carts myself, started with bic disposables i think..shaved 2 times a week and hated it.i at least started using williams and a brush in 06 to 16.then i dropped carts and grew a full beard.after dabbling with an ej89 for a bit and starting to get a collecting itch, joined TSD jan 2017.joined the 30dc in august 18 and the rest is history.up from twice a week to daily, bumps and issues gone.dfs+ to bbs no issues.odd bit of irritation if i overshave a spot or let a blade get too dull.as i was gaining a lot of razors i stuck with vintage gillettes to justify my growing collection and gave a bunch of other types to friends.and here we are..that's my story in a nutshell.now most gillettes shave quite similar, different models are milder than others but they are predictable.i have a vintage gillette that uses injector blades as well as a schick e2.that's as far as i have ventured from de..have a great time with your se adventure.technique trumps tools..ride the cap ,no pressure, map your beard.avoid "against the grain" till your face gets used to it.i had to try daily to get the skins tolerances up and it will.one shave at a time..:)
  6. Glad to have you back Adam.

I spoke with our Sothern Samurai yesterday. He is well and working and working and working... basically he is keeping busy and asked me to say hi to everyone.

Welcome to the 30dc, I am sure after 30 days you will find you have improved a lot.

We will be here when you are ready.

Cool, that is the first time I saw a pocket knife that included a razor. I think you can shave with them no problem.

Thank you, that helps a lot.

Keep me in mind if you want to sell one after you finished reconditioning them..... or I have a few razors we can trade ;)
  7. Nice shave, Patrick!

Thanks, Kieth! I love how this group doesn’t ask if or why some idiot would shave with a pocket knife, but simply says that one will work!
