    PAA PS - Tube 2.0
PAA SS - Pineapple Bay Rum
Heritage Collections Ever Ready 3-Step HMW
    J3 Customs Kamisori
    PAA ASB - Star Jelly
PAA AS/C - Pineapple Bay Rum

3 pass DFS+. Nice smooth shave with everything working as expected. This aroma is interesting, it's a very sweet and mild bay rum, which smells identical to JuicyFruit gum off the soap, or before the dry down for the AS/C. Once dry, there's slightly more bay rum than sweet to my nose.

This particular soap is the pre CK-6 formula. Very quick/easy lathering.....nice, extremely thick and slick while shaving. Doesn't quite have the overall face feel of the CK-6 version, but it's a much less expensive formulation (almost half the $). It's one thing that PAA does slightly different than many soap artisans....there are currently two soap bases, and most fragrances are offered in both.

Smooth and ready for a Thursday!

Hope yours is a Great One!

    January 2 SOTD:

    Razor: PAA Ascension SS
    Blade: Astra SP
    Brush: PAA The Solar Flare
    Lather: PAA Pareidolia
    Aftershave: PAA Pareidolia

Day 2 of my No Repeat PAA shaves and I am pulling out Pareidolia. This is such an interesting scent with some Absinthe notes and a woody base. It is no longer offered, but PAA has a habit of resurrecting old scents, so it wouldn't surprise me if it came back at some point. It is so different than my other scents, I really appreciate it. The shave was two passes for a DFS, so good as always. I hope everyone has a great day!
  8. Thanks Terry......it was lather, rinse, repeat this morning too.

  10. And, as I just implied, I repeated with the Phoenix A.A. soap(Boomtown Bay Rum) and Clubman A.S.(Special Reserve.). Very well done. People here have said, in so many words, that there is something quite special about this shave soap. I now fully agree. The first pass was such a success that the second really didn't shave off much-all was practically gone after pass #1. In my mind, the Clubman S.R. is the perfect A.S. for this soap.
  11. Sorry....
Shake, it's getting worse, so I'm told.
    Well......
  12. Great PAA shave Jim! Looks like I'm going to learn a good number of PAA fragrances this month!

Prep: Cold water and PAA Cube pre-shave soap
    Blade: vintage Gillette Platinum
    Razor: Schick J1
    Brush: Surrey badger
    Soap: Stirling Dirty South Shavers
Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Dirty South Shavers aftershave

I'm posting now before things get busy. Haven't actually shaved yet but will in a few minutes. This should be a good combination and provide a nice shave. Still working through my collection. I'm using the newer or lesser-used items first and then progressing through the more popular or older choices. Tomorrow is Fat Friday of course.

Wet, rainy mess today in Alabama. We have Wilson's 5-year check up at the pediatrician this morning. I can actually go since I'm off work, which is nice. I have a feeling he won't enjoy it much as he needs a couple of booster shots.

    Enjoy your day!

I started using this Duke Cannon bar soap yesterday:

Nice scent, but it's so crazy big that it's almost impossible to use. I thought about cutting it in half.

  20. First shave of the new year! Genco 5/8 square tip with a muted spike, Route 66 Sweeney Todd, finished off with Stirling Island Man Glacial. This soap is my current target for using up. The way I do this is use my targeted soap every other shave. It takes me about 3 months to get through my soap rotation right now. This soap was purchased in 2016, so is one of the oldest soaps I have. My razor is sharp, but not as crisp as I would like. I’m going to play with it before my next shave.
