And NOW.....it's time 4...your 1st FILES edition of the decade. -In recent shaves, I've come to think a lot about the famous term I see a lot in here-technique trumps tools. I think about how well my shower bodywashes prepare me for my shaves, then my newly acquired "Y shape shave" on my neck(which does a great job in killing off the side hairs). Right there, we talk about a tool, and a technique. Both provide benefits for my shaves-course each in a different way. I'll come back to this T T T thing next week. -I'm glad to be getting into the habit of moving the brush in different directions as I work the soap into my face and neck. I can see how it improves things. -A few days ago, I wrote that the softness of the PAA soap reminds me of that of Rte 66. Maybe there's a good reason why-the Rte 66 team isn't that far from Phoenix.
Jan 3 Good morning, guys! Straight Razor Shave #142 Henckel's Friodur 7/8 Full Hollow Sq Pt C-Mon Heritage Collection Badger RR Classic SS Pinaud Clubman AS Nivea ASB not pictured I decided to use my new C-Mon brush again because I want to break it in more. When I decided to buy this brush, I wanted it because it matched the scales on my 2 C-Mon razors. So, I was pleasantly surprised and quite honestly forgot that the scales on my Henckel's Friodur does also. Anyway, this brush whipped up the Razorock Classic soap with out a problem and it produced a nice face lather. 2.5 passes gave me a BBS shave. Finished the shave in the usual manner. Did get a slight sting from the aftershave, but I smell nice. Lol! Later, I am going to meet a friend at a Thai restaurant for lunch. Have a great day, guys!
good morning gents ,friday shave, dusted of a favorite today.z-3 tv superspeed with a platinum, the omega built a lovely noble otter lather.2+ passes delivered a near bbs ,no drama .the trail aftershave to finish.of to work..happy friday everyone..
Interesting thought, Adam. Growing up as a "kid" I always equated Rise Shaving Cream with men. Now their "Super Foam" is supposedly unisex, but whenever I shaved with it, I always went back to my childhood and thoughts of it as "for a man".
I see your point, although I think The Veg qualifies as extra manly . And of course, Mandom must be manly. In reality, after 20 years of being married (come this February), my definition of masculine or feminine, especially with scents, is totally related to how I see things between my wife and I. In Dapper Doc's case, I bought a sample of it, and from the first sniff immediately thought of my wife. Don't know why, but I did. When she uses the deodorant, I can smell the scent on her, and it is much more pleasant on her than me. So you are right, it really is much more of an individual perception/comfort than a truth.
Awesome shave, Jim! I have had soaps that didn't impress me at first, but somehow they grew on me, for example, Stirling Glastonbury and RR Classic. Now, they won't be in my top tier, but they're nice that I would consider buying them again. Maybe the same thing will happen with your PAA Astra Planeta.
The Veg was the one Napoleon used and supplied his soldiers with, right? Was Napoleon a woman? (lol).
my wife regularly uses mens or unisex fragrances and deodorant.she isn't a fan of the really traditional womens scents..
Very nice shave and post, Clint! Glad your digging the Enoch and that the Enoch isn't digging you. Lol!
