I love Brut. Most of my life I've never used anything else. I wish my love for traditional shaving had come when more Brut products were available. I've never found a deodorant I like more. Anti-perspirants irritate me. Brut splash is refreshing with less chance of overdose. I've found dupes/copies I like in: Wholly Kaw LA Fougere Parfait. SS and AS nice menthol bump in the splash. Great soap. Very, very close scent. Skip their deodorant, doesn't last. PAA 'ET TU' - I got the bath soap, shampoo puck, SS, AS gel, and AS splash. Have not used the shampoo or bath soap yet, but the other stuff is great. It is advertised to be closer to original Faberge than modern U.S. Brut. I like them both more than the commonly available stuff.
At the risk of breaking shaving protocol and setting the forum on fire again (i refer to my published issues with blooming ) I am old enough to remember HK as a kid (many decades ago ) and when it was particularly prevalent as a gift set for men. Note that i didn't say "popular". Even my pathetic infant brain, giddy with the enthusiasm of xmas and looking to buy something for everyone i was related to, knew that HK was absolute utter crap and i knew it would be thrown back at me with indignation and disgust regardless of the good intentions behind the gift. It was the eternal refugee of the post-xmas sales, not even wanted at a fraction of the price. Dreadful stuff
That is a really good question. The reputation of the seller is really all we have to work with, and since 1999, when I first joined ebay, I have only had one issue with a seller, who had stellar feedback. However, I would say that Caveat Emptor will always apply.
In honor of the late actor Jack Palance, I think AoM needs to replace HK with Skin-bracer as one of the six. I mean-"Confidence is very sexy...don't you think?"(Palance's closing line in his Skin-Bracer commercial)sounds much better than two swords clashing together to make a karate sound, followed by the guy saying "Hai Karate.....be careful how you use it".

I only rediscovered Brut about a year ago. Befor then, I think the last time I used Brut was in 1977. It’s great stuff and, once the bottle in my den runs out, I’m buying another!
I just picked up a bottle of Brut Classic this morning. It’s keeping my bottle of Brut cologne company.

Got the Brut Soap Bar coming as well. The only thing to make it more Brut would be a Brut Shave Soap.
The new Boomer soap from Grooming Dept is supposed to be a nice take on Brut. It looks like its in the newer Fortis base, which I'm trying to keep an eye out for reviews on. I also saw a post from Mo that Oleo will be making matching splashes for the soaps being released through West Coast Shaving, so there could be another Brut-esque splash coming to market to compare the original with.
