So I made my own aftershave with a concoction of a bunch of different fragrances and threw it into a bottle. My best description of the scent is the following: musky, powdery, minty jolly ranchers. I don't know if that is a good thing, and quite frankly to be honest I am afraid to put this on my skin. But I might just do it for the purpose of shave science. wish me luck
January 5 SS Weber DE with Bulldog Handle Voskhod (2) 30 Day Crew LE Poculi handle w/APShaveCo 28mm SynBad knot Stirling Soap Co. Blood on Steel Alum, Thayers WH, USB & Floid Vigoroso I enjoyed a nice early morning shave before church with my trusty focus gear. Two effortless passes plus touch-ups resulted in near BBS results. Stirling BOS soap is top-notch in every respect. We're enjoying beautiful sunny weather today. It has been warm enough that we can use the screen doors on our balcony to circulate fresh air in the condo. I'm making steady progress on consuming my aftershave and cologne. Both containers were nearly full a couple of months ago. I've probably got another month or so left in both of them. I enjoy using the Vigoroso, but I wouldn't repurchase it in the large glass container. It can be slippery, and I take extra care to keep from dropping it. I can think of better things to do than explaining to the condo owner why her place smells of Italian barbershop aftershave. The cologne was included in a product bag we purchased a couple of years ago. I'd describe it as a very light Italian aqua scent. It's nice but not one I'd consider purchasing again. I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.
I've heard that's a cold one. I'm afraid if I go too cold I'll no longer enjoy the others--and I enjoy enjoying the others. I read, somewhere, that some crazy individual shaved their face and head with the Cryogen soap, but that has to just be an urban legend
Thanks Gary! I'll include some outdoor photos later this week. Your recent photos are inspiring me to take my first outdoor SOTD photo.
Much respect for those who sacrifice themselves on the altar of shave science--return and report, if you can. If not, may flights of angels sing thee to the rest
At the shop I go to, they have a sign I love...We Repair Home-made Haircuts. I'm guilty of doing a little slicing myself.
I suggest putting a double dose on your neck right before you go to school and walk around some of the girls in your high school. If they compliment you without your prodding, then it is a successful concoction. Neutral, negative or no comments, then you will have to dump it in the sink.
Jeff @jgreenepa has shaved his head and face with it, but not concurrently. I am not a menthe head per se, but prior to using Cryogen, Proraso was my only mentholated soap which is very mild. I have only face shaved with it, but I am planning on doing a headshave with it in the spring. If I can deal with the headshave, then I will graduate and do both at the same time.
