Hello all! Wonderful Tuesday morning. Good morning everyone! Got a good nap in, breakfast, coffee, and shaven, ready for the day. Tobac was on the agenda today, using the odd little Neo-Ras with a new Feather blade. I am getting very used to this blade holder. Although it is a mild razor I'm still getting ok results. Two passes with some minor clean up, head and face, no issues. I think if I am more careful, I can get a really good shave. Got a busy day ahead of me but I'm clean, smooth, and ready for the day. all Enjoy! tp
That Silverloaf looks like a ton of fun to shave with! Following your experiments with a hot scuttle. I got a buddy interested in wet shaving a month ago, he got the PAA scuttle as he was looking specifically for warm lather. But I don’t think he is going that hot. Just ~130 degrees tap water.
Good looking shave and photo Patrick. Hang in there and take care. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
January 7th Razor: Rex Envoy Blade: Gillette 7 0:Clock SP (3) Brush: SOC badger Pre-shave: PAA The Cube Soap: PAA Clasico Bay Rum Stirling Bay Rum witch hazel PAA AA Bay Rum Star Jelly AS: PAA Captain Smythe's Private Reserve Bay Rum Good morning Another wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Light tickle from the alum. PAA Clasico Bay Rum was one of my first soaps. It's pre CK1, not sure what that base was called. Still great performance and a scent that started me down the Bay Rum rabbit hole. I didn't like it at all at first. Smells like a jar of pickles to me. Thinking something must be amiss I ordered another Bay Rum. Much the same underlying scent. Really started to grow on me. Now I have several and I enjoy every one of them. I've been using newer high density badger brushes with 'gel tips' a lot lately. The SOC, one of my first brushes, feels decidedly understuffed and a bit scritchy in comparison. Not bad but different than the newer offerings. Have a great day!
Wonderful shave, Jim! My SOC is ok, but I think it is overhyped in the shave community. I like my C-Mon Heritage much more!
