  3. Great shave, great photos, and great razor, Jeff.

This really is a hard thread to keep up with without coming down with RAD!

  5. I agree completely, and this is why I don't discount soaps just because they don't have tallow.

  6. Jim, I do believe you're competing with Pasteur Pharmacy(NYC)...which has been called a "gold mine" for shave enthusiasts.

  7. Just make sure you don't disclose contact information to Mrs. Gulch, as I can't have Mrs. Norcal thinking that people on this board think I am extreme.

  9. I'm trying, Paul.

  10. That's fair. I bet you have to search a little more to find the pictures you show Mrs. Norcal to show you aren't that bad.
  11. Nice shave, Evan!

  12. Well, I may save Jim's photos for reference. Just in case she doesn't by my "But everybody is doing it" reasoning any more.

  13. I'll give it a try, but The Missus is famous for putting the foot down when she thinks she is detecting nonsense--I think she would consider another razor nonsense. It hurts sometimes, but it's kept our family out of the red

  14. Thanks Danny.....same animal tomorrow with a different brush. I'll cover it in this thread tomorrow. I decided the Jeeves BR is worth going 3 days straight(as you know, I'm trying to do just 2 for most shave choices now).

  17. That may or may not be a weekly conversation at our house. I can neither confirm nor deny.
  18. I'm sure I would hear it more often if I opened more packages in her presence.
  19. Thank you, Jason!

I know you addressed the question about different bases to @jluc, but I will add my two cents. In my opinion, there was a pretty decent step change from the pre-CK base to what is now the CK1 base. The CK1 base is much improved all the way around IMO. The CK6 base didn't add much except a bit easier to lather and a better post shave face feel. Now, lately I have taken the lather left in my brush after shaving and using my hands to apply it to my face while cleaning up the brush and razor. To me, the post shave feel is even more apparent when I do this. Both are good bases, though.
