Charlie, I consider my den as not too large and not too small. I am good with it because I have enough variety to make me happy. Your wife is a sweetheart for supporting your shave hobby and allowing you to get that expensive cologne if you choose to do so! You are very blessed, my friend!

Well, it is pretty cool in NY, so I wanted a nice reminder that summer will definitely be here, but we have 5 months before it arrives.

Thanks, Jeff! It is a nice, clean scent that isn't overbearing and I bet your fragrance sensitive wife would be fine with it. It doesn't linger, but it is still a wonderful scent.

Thank you, Gary! I own 2 Austs and I just like the look of Spanish points. Also, they are nice shavers!

Very cool shave, Keith! I am not cracking wise, but why don't you use a dark brown towel when using this soap? I think it would solve the staining problem by being less noticeable. Finally, how different is it shaving with a kami vs straight and do you prefer one over the other?

In all of the blade trials I did for a couple of years I can say without question that there are some blades that you want to run away from as fast as possible. Tiger, Flying Eagle, and almost anything made in China by a company other than Gillette should be avoided like the plague. And, I can also say without question that, until your technique is dialed in completely, some blades will seem far better than others among those that are actually all quite good. Once that technique snaps into place, blade choice is much less crucial. I still have my favorites that seem a tad smoother but I can use nearly any blade and get a quality shave.

Note to the 30DC Crew - A no-shave night has been declared at Cartel HQ. Worked late, I'm tired, and I have to be up early tomorrow. I'll be back on the Soap Commander tomorrow! Have a great Wednesday.

No shame involved on my part.

Just wanting to make sure that the fellas have a response in case any of the estrogen units begin building a monument to a guy because he only has 25 soaps.

How long did it take Andrew @Linuxguile for his EDRIO marathon again?

And who was it that revealed not too long ago that they had like 800 razors?

I was thinking the same thing, but what estrogen unit could resist being chauffeured around in class

Thanks Joe. You have plenty of variety and some very nice gear in your den. And yes, I am blessed. Many of our friends have told us that she is a very patient woman. ;)

Wow! I had to put on my sunglasses to view all that shiny goodness.

You better adjust the Red Tip, Jim. It's sitting at 47 degrees. All the other razors on the lower shelves are spot on at 45 degrees. :scared011::scared011::scared011::scared011:

    My shave/toiletries den
My wife and I split the cabinet 50/50: I get the bottom shelf, and the left half of the middle; she gets the top shelf and the right half of the middle (and the counter (both of them) and the drawers, and cabinets under the counter (both of them) and the other wall cabinet)--which seems reasonable to me

Bottom shelf: 3 soaps, 3 aftershave, Frost drops, and Walmart Noxzema knock-off .

Middle shelf: shave balm, deodorant, styptic pencil, 2 razors, blades, Shave Secret, 2 lip balms, and a piece of cloth for skin-stretching.

All items are stored at a slight angle, not for aesthetic enhancement, but rather to take up all allotted available space (use it or lose it is the unspoken mantra here, and you can see The Missus' tubes of lotion and whatnot slowly pushing my poor gear further and further left).

The cabinet, however, is not my entire universe. I have a shampoo bar and Christmas Eve (as my shower soap) in the shower, a toothbrush and tooth powder in a corner on the counter, and a Parker Variant buried somewhere in my sock drawer. *drops mic*

But if I'm being completely honest, I'm not really interested in expanding the den. I'll probably try other razors to replace ones I have, but I'm still aiming at having just a daily driver and a travel razor. I'll continue to buy samples rather than full pucks so I can try more soaps, but I don't want to keep track of more than 3. I don't mind trying out different aftershaves, but again, 3 at a time is my max.

I do, however, really enjoy learning about the fantastic gear you all share, and your posts are a form of window shopping for me, which is something I have always liked doing ;)
