Good Wednesday morning all! Still on my Neo-Ras and new Feather blade focus. It's getting better and better every shave. Two passes both head and face. A little touch up on the head. Because it's a mild tool, not sure I'll ever get a clean two pass shave without here and there touching up some. No issues, ready for the day. all Enjoy! tp
January 8th Razor: Occam's Enoch Blade: Schick Proline P30 (1) Brush: Stirling Finest Pre-shave: PAA The Cube Soap: PAA Blue Samhain PAA Galactic witch hazel PAA unscented Star Jelly AS: PAA Blue Samhain Good morning Wonderful shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Nearly silent alum. Blue Samhain is a fun scent. Butterscotch. Yup, to my nose the scent is dominated by butterscotch. Not something I'll reach for very often but I'll enjoy it when I do. Have a great day!
No-Picture-Wednesday Same exact gear as yesterday: Mike's Bay Rum Mondial 26mm Boar 1958 Gillette Adjustable (9) Polsilver Meehan Bay Rhum Good results today. I have to chalk up yesterday's roughness to user error. Set the Fatboy back to 9 and kept a better angle. The Fatboy's one drawback, IMO, is its very thick and tall head. It makes it top-heavy and cumbersome to maneuver. Keeping a shallow angle also demands more focus. Mike's Bay Rum lathered well and laid a great foundation for a smooth shave. The Meehan is a potent juice. More so than Dominica. More alcohol content as well, so the application comes with its fair share of sting.
Thanks, Joe. Most soap scents are fine with her, since their scents do dissipate. Tabac soap is one she can’t tolerate.
Very nice Terry. I hope your day goes well. Gorgeous photo. Love the colors Jim. Excellent shave report Joseph.
Terrific picture, Jim. And nice touch matching the butterscotch shave brush to the butterscotch scent.
January 8, 2020 Enoch Feather Pro Simpson CH2 Synthetic A&E “The City” Fine Santal Absolut I broke out the "Soap Destroyer" today in large part because it matched the soap and I was try to be more like Jim @jluc . I really enjoy using A&E soaps. The scents are different and the performance is top notch. I went with the regular Feather Pro today. Three passes with touch ups and buffing my lower right neck ended in a drama free BBS shave. The shave might not be quite as long lasting as the shave when using the Feather Super Pro but it was certainly easier. A splash of Fine Santal and I am off to my office. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.
I don't know, Clint. Once you start down the path of color coordinating your shaves it's hard to turn back. I don't wish that condition on anyone. Terrific shave and picture!
January 8 SOTD: Razor: Gillette '48-'50 SS Blade: Voskhod Brush: PAA The Solar Flare Lather: PAA Big Shave S'west Aftershave: PAA Big Shave S'west I used some Big Shave S'west this morning, which is possible that I have not posted about in the past, as I did not see that it was in my Shaving Buddy app. I have used a few times and had it a while. It is a woody scent, similar to a Sandalwood, along with some sage. After the lather builds or a bit of dry down on the AS, some light floral, tobacco sweetness comes in along with a nice musky scent and just a hint of pepper. It is very nice scent and I definitely enjoy it when I use it. It was the usual two pass DFS this morning. I hope everyone has a great day!
SOTD January 8, 2020 Prep: Cold water and PAA Cube pre-shave soap Blade: vintage Personna twin Razor: Schick L1 Brush: JR #377 badger Soap: Stirling British Leather Post: Witch hazel, Stirling British Leather aftershave Nice and easy shave with the L1 and Stirling British Leather. Superb lather whipped up by JR #377, efficient whisker reduction, and a nice result in the end. Can't ask for much else for a work day. Enjoy your day!
