  3. I agree with you, Charlie! I find some of the labels and titles on some brands very offensive.

  4. When they hiked their aftershave prices, I figured....soaps only for me. They're still less expensive than those of Bill Neumann(the aftershaves),, but that's still too much, for me.

  5. Nice Gary! Love the Canadian New SC!

Great on the honing! Interesting about the soap sitting for so long....gives me hope on the ones I have! Ouch on the set down...next time hopefully better!

  6. Very cool B&W image Danny! Love the setup. Still on my list to go find that EDT at Big Lots.....

    Nice Jeff! Great image too!

  9. I have a guided system, but my stones for it only go up to 1200. Freehand sharpening I have stones up to 12,000, plus a ton of naturals. For pocket knives that actually get used, I don't go much beyond 2,ooo. Most of my pocket knives are so small its easier to go freehand than adapt the angle guide to the knife. For kitchen knives, I went up to 3,000 last time, and use the hone between uses. That seems to hold up well. The perfect balance of speed and quality edge seems to be up to 2k on synthetic, or use a Washita Arkansas stone, then finish on a translucent Arkansas or a Charnley Forest.

  13. I do too.....I decided that's the keeper, whereas I sadly flipped the Baker St. (They both were PIFed together).

  17. Went Monday and Tuesday without shaving. I'd like to say it was to see how well the MMOC handled real growth, but it just because I was on the road Monday and lazy Tuesday.
    • MMOC w/SS non-coated blade (4th shave)
    • Shave Secret as pre-shave
    • Baker Street soap
    • Kong brush
    • Glacial Unscented Balm
    • Baker Street AS

I've really been focusing on keeping the cap against my face, which should be easy considering how flat the razor is, but it hasn't been an intuitive process. Got it dialed in today, though--smooth, smooth shaving. Things went so well I decided to indulge in touching up... also smooth. The true test was the Baker Street AS (I have a light reaction to it, and it'll burn me if shave isn't spot on perfect). No burn.

I'm really starting to like the MMOC now. Especially if I've got a lot of growth to mow down.

  19. The last time I went two days without shaving was when I was in the hospital for 3 days(2 nights). I'll correct that. I shaved the morning I went in and immediately when I got home, thus it was one FULL day.

  20. I watched "Smitty" being interviewed at a "Shave-A-Thon".....not a man with whom I'd like to have coffee, thus I'm not surprised he continues to offend. Yet, I must say I do like my first purchase from them(the Boomtown Bay Rum).
