You're welcome Joe! Yep, I know you love your straights and shavettes. Your collection is awesome and fits your personality. Feel free to prod me to use my straights more.
Thanks, Evan! I will say that the more you use your straight razor(s), then the more proficient you will become. I know novices start straight shaving during the weekends because they are not under pressure of getting ready to go to work. However, I always suggest that once you get more comfortable with straight-shaving, then shave the night before so you get an extra shave in for the week. You will get faster and eventually, you will be able to do it even during the morning hours. As for myself, I strop the blade the night before and also lay out my paraphernalia on the counter to cut the prep time, thus it lessens the stress of getting ready. With just over 1 yr of straight-shaving, I can do a 2 pass shave in 15 minutes that includes face-lathering, if need be. I got to that point because I shaved an avg 4x a week using my shavette or one of my straights. You are ahead of the game because you are straight shaving. All you need to do is find a convenient time to commit to do an extra straight shave or two every week. The most important thing is that you will get there; it takes time and commitment.
Gonna be a pretty busy day, so no shave tomorrow. Gotta go up to the Army navy store in the morning and get some parts for my M1 carbine. Ended up finally getting to field strip it, needed a lot of cleaning from carbon build up and lubricating but I managed to get it done. Gonna take it out next weekend to shoot it the first time so I am excited for that, always wanted me a ww2 US rifle. anyhow I hope you guys enjoy your weekend! be safe
Has anyone heard from @RyX lately...? Was wondering if we can start discussing religion and politics.
January 2020 January 10 Razor - New LC - Delta Echo Blade - (3) Soap - Soap Commander Courage Brush - Jayaruh #54 Post - Alum Just thought I'd let Snoopy narrate the opening tonight. It would appear our January Monsoon has arrived, along with an earlier tornado warning. Nothing touched down but they're jumpy in these parts. I knew we were fine. I sent Natalia out to watch Cartel HQ to make sure no tornado came near. I knew it would run from her. Third shave with the LC and Rapira SS blade tonight. Soap Commander as I continue to run out of this one, and tonight I featured the @Jayaruh #54. Great looking brush and it makes lather with that synthetic knot in amazing quantities and with amazing ease! Three pass shave with no irritation or any other problems. Gotta love it. Hope the weather is better where you are. Have a great weekend!!
I had a friend who used to shoot competitively. He'd bring his M1 and go up against real high-speed, high-tech shooters, and still walk away with awards--he loved that rifle
Great report and shave (anything that starts with 'It was a dark and stormy night's is bound to be excellent. Also, glad to hear no tornados helped you move your house
