  2. Really trying to respond more.
Thanks Jim! Same thing for me. Just figured it would be nice to me this morning.
Really nice shave Danny! I like it when the less expensive razors perform so well. 3 days of growth is a little concerning. How does that even happen?
Nice shave Gary! We're getting snow off and on this morning coming in from the North West. It's probably your fault.
Nice Shave Blair! Fun picture and great razor. Per the norm.

Nice Shave Tim! I'd wondered about "Texas on Fire". Is it really a smoke smell? I think it would be like "Midnight Stag", a fun scent but not one I want to smell like very often.

  5. Stellar shave Joe! My motto on lather is get it wet enough that it gets flung off your brush as you are applying it.
Uhh, Im gooing to have to go back and look for more info on this dime razor. Is it May already?
    Beautiful shot Jim!
stunning photo and awesome shave Clint!
    Fantastic photo Jim!

The Red Ring is still one Unicorn that I'm hunting. Great shave Jeff!
Beautiful razor, Joseph! I'm glad the AS didn't disappoint!
    Fantastic shave Jason!
    Great shave Evan!
    Awesome blackout shave, Danny!
Very nice Gary! I have been thinking about breaking out a glacial soap myself!
    Exquisite photo, Blair!

  7. So, apparently Tim's restrictions are as much about controlling clutter as they are about not spending crazy amounts of money. It's a new concept for some of us. I think it would interfere with my, "buy a bigger house and/or rent another storage unit" mentality.

On the topic of clutter, last year we had a "throw something away everyday" goal. The idea was to ease the emotional pain and get the kids more familiar with letting go of stuff they don't need/use anymore. At one point my son threw away a 500 piece puzzle (about 480 left) and informed me he was done for the year.

Stick to your guns Tim. Keep the clutter to a minimum.

  10. Love that Christmas Eve, Evan. I'm glad you're giving face a rest after the demisectomy. Any plans to take on the daunting Autostrop in the future?

  12. Wonderful shave, Danny! That all black setup is super classy, and I'm g;ad you're pulling expensive shaves out of an inexpensive razor--my favorite kind of surprise! :D

    Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Yaqi Beast Hybrid
    Suneco (3)
    BRM (24mm, Frigate Class)
    Stirling Autumn Glory soap
    Fine Platinum AS

This morning I had my first run with the Yaqi Beast Hybrid. Which if you don't know is the pairing of the OC top cap and the DE89 style base plate. This combination holds the blade very flat in the head with a significant blade gap. Still working on using up the Stirling Autumn Glory I made a lovely, dripping wet, Super Goop lather. There was a decent amount of blade feel but what really stupid out to me was how loud this razor was during the shave. It sounded like I was buttering toast in the bathroom. The Suneco blade on this third shave really struggled on my chin and mustache areas. I don't know if this was exacerbated by a bit of chatter in the razor but it was definitely uncomfortable. The second and third pass were better and I finished slightly better then DFS. No sting from the AS though, so I'll take it! Have a great day my friends!

  16. Been loving everybody's outdoor pics, and this is no exception, Blair. Actually, I think your scent description is a better advertisement than the official profile ;)

  17. Great photo! Sorry to hear the Eco didn't live up to your expectations. Still, glad to hear you've got a winner with the Shake Sharp :D

  18. Thanks, Evan! That was my initial fear when I first pulled the trigger on ToF, and the smoke is definitely in there, but (to my nose) there are some subtle and warm things happening in the background that make it more than just a campfire scent. I've got no problem using this on a regular basis. Disclaimer: I'm one of those guys that likes the taste of black licorice, mincemeat pie, and chili-coated mango pops--thank heavens there's no accounting for taste ;)
  19. More fun reading Keith! Great shave! Is the water always boiling as you pour it into your scuttle? We have one of those 5 gallon water cooler/heaters...and it heats to ~180 degrees....wondering if that's hot enough.

Nice setup and fun read Neal!

    Very cool Paul!

Great report and details Bill! Great job on that razor! I have almost all the PAA John Frum scented products.....fun to do with the right fragrance!

    Awesome shavette shave Joe!

Still digging that dime razor Terry! Very cool.....simplicity works!

Neat image again Jim! Lovin' that brush! I still need to add a rubberset copy (or find a good example).

Nice Menthol Monday shave Tommy! Cool looking brush!

Nice everything as usual Clint! Love the colors!

Nice Jim! Cold spices......hmm....may get to join in with that one soon. Hope it shows up before I have to repeat something...... :happy102:

That is a great looking I1 Perry! Love seeing the collection.

Awesome report comparison Jeff. Nice looking Eclipse Red Ring. Menthol Monday with anything when you have your own M-Bomb!

Nice details Paul! Soon I'll be able to compare some more Barbershop fragrances to CTS....Stirling incoming from their recent sale.

Lovely everything and great reporting Joseph! Love that DD razor and brush!

Great image Jason! Awesome. Shoveling snow.....now that's something I know I'd find a way around (besides living where we do)! Few years ago we had a 4-5 day doozy, like a once in 15 year storm. Ice, sleet, then snow across a 24 hour period. 3rd day we had to go out....would have been faster to walk to the store than clearing the 3 layers off the vehicles.
  20. The one most certainly helps with the with the other. Thanks for the encouragement, Evan. Oddly, you'd think that seeing all this stellar gear day in and day out would be disheartening, but I was born with a freakish ability to enjoy watching/listening to other people enjoy their well deserved toys. I appreciate everybody sharing their experiences, and I'm learning a whole lot on the way :D

I've got some kids, btw, who would have thrown that puzzle away one piece per day--"Heh, heh! Take that, system!" Simplifying comes harder for some than others ;)
