i just bought a stone that was originally sold by alex at japan stones. he tests them, matches a nagura and gives you 30 day return policy minus shipping. i could not be more pleased with it!!!! and occasionally sub $200 did you use your coti and/or jnat with slurry? but i understand not all stones are capable of finishing. i'd be glad to try your stones out and give you second opinion. i have a small coti a slurry stone haven't mastered it yet. but get great edges from. i find after slurry dilution a short time under clear water or water with glycerin brought the edge sharper.i 'm begging to prefer smoother over uber sharp but that's a whole different conversation. same with jnat a few laps clear bumps the sharpness a 6x2 arkansas translucent can be had for well under $100. ( i might have a extra one.... still lapping and testing)
