A few weeks with the MMOC has cure me of that; however, I do find that I have to work an area more thoroughly. Crazy thing is I normally have to use more pressure to get a mild razor to shave right. It just hasn't been the case with this one. Don't know if it has a wider sweet spot, or I just naturally gravitate to it with the Flare Tip, but one way or the other--I'll take it!
Thanks, Jeff! Straight/Shavette shaving for 15 months definitely helps! At this stage in my journey, it is second nature for me to straight shave, but that can cause me to be nonchalant and unfocused to the point of getting badly cut. Thank God that hasn't happened, but I have had some nicks because I was not focused for 1 sec.
And pain it was . Always seemed cartridge that came with handle was sharp. Replacement blades in packs tugged and pulled the hair out. Dont get me started on the clogging that got worse every time they added a blade . Tap the darn thing on the sink and it would pop off and go down drain hole.
Soooo many wonderful straights. I keep thinking, "Wow! That one's the best of the bunch, but then your very next post dethrones the previous one Great pic and wonderful shave, Keith!
i had to drag the whiskers out with a finger under the tap to clear them..very true about the blade /handle package..i get that..
People say that when I wear a suit ....which isnt too often . People can say what they want about Arko but it works well....just dont smell too good. Thats what aftershave is for. Great post Keith!
The cheap Chinese Shaverboy blades are even a step up from back in those days. I'll never complain about a bad 10 cent blade
very cool..i have a few of those..we have some good blades at our disposal .and the way we buy them in 100 pacs is cheap as chips.we are enjoying a great time in shaving history..no matter what razor preference one has..
Thats so true . I never dreamed shaving could be so relaxing. And I never discussed carts or canned foam or gel with people like I do with the wonderful gear we are using now .
if you keep up the great progress with your straights you will gain a new hobby..honing and stones..congrats..
January 2020 January 16 Razor - Gillette Red Tip Super Speed Blade - (3) Soap - Soap Commander Courage Brush - Omega 10060 Post - Alum Winter appears to be back and they have predicted snow, ice and rain for Friday. I'm not sure what to expect. I think they threw all three in because they really don't have a clue. Covered their butts on that one. Today was sunny but cold, so a nice hot shave was in order. Third day with the Red Tip and Ladas. Soap Commander and the small Omega boar for the lather and three passes was a breeze. BBS is the result and life is good. At least until we find out what we get weather-wise for tomorrow. The way it works around here I wouldn't be surprised to wake up to a snow hurricane with an ice tornado in the middle of it. That would be fun. Have a great Friday!! The weekend is nearly here!!!
i also never talked about shaving issues.who would you ask.it was a given one knew how to shave..guys talking is a good thing ,not just drinking and pissing contests..anyhoo,
Hmmmm. Really doesn't matter what I wear, people usually ask me to stand in the back row. I used to think it's because I'm 6'4", but when they started asking me to sit in the back row... well, even I can figure that one out.
