1. Brigham Enterprises Hudson’s Bay in my old Charatan second, my first quality pipe, and a great one. You can see the putty fill right where the shank joins the bowl. Doesn’t affect the smoke at all. $17 in 1978, what a bargain!

  2. I liked it very much. I think it's produced by Stokkebye to honor the classic Balkan Sobrainie. I believe this is a bit milder than the original with less Latakia. This is currently my everyday smoke, replacing Seattle Pipe Clubs "Plum Pudding," which I've been smoking for years (since the unavailability of Penzance).

I do love me some Latakia!
  4. To my knowledge, Sam Gawith is still around. My local pipe shop, The Briary, has a pretty good selection of SG. If I’m not mistaken, Lane 125th Anniversary was a limited production run. Not sure about Crown Achievement. There’s a chance I might get over to The Briary this Saturday, and if so I’ll ask about Crown Achievement.

  8. I haven’t smoked this pipe in a while. It’s a Michal Novak, not very expensive, maybe $100 or slightly under. He made a series of pipes with a bit of old school thought, where the objective was to get as many pipes from a block of briar as possible without regard to grain. Enjoying OGS in it on a sunny winter day in Alabama.

  11. While I have a couple of Nording Pipes I like very much, I’ve never been a huge fan of the classic Eric Nording style. Nording doesn’t travel much anymore, but he came to The Briary’s annual pipe show on February 29. Thinking this might be his last trip to the U. S., I decided to get one of his iconic designs. I wanted an unfinished pipe, to let it color in naturally over time, much like my Charatan. His autograph is laser etched into the side, but he did date it with a Sharpie and sign the bag. I like this one better than most of this style, including the metal military mount.

  12. Sorry for being late with my answer.
It is not a brand in common sense. It is hand made by a renowned pipe maker in Switzerland. His name is "Roman Peter".
