  2. Thank you Evan. I only tried because the Gem blades last longer. I get about 3 shaves out of the Feather FHS and about 5 or 6 out of a Gem blade. I do get a better shave with the Feather blades.
  3. Oh I am cynical as they come. I just try not to get worked up over small things.
  4. The Gibbs is much lighter and has a different head geometry. I really like the way it shaves. I have two, and love the shave on both, a #15 and a #17 shown. They both shave identically. I’m currently at the point where if I don’t work out the dome shaving issue, I’ll be selling mine. I’m not sure what material the Gibbs is constructed from, but I’m pretty sure it’s not stainless.
  5. If aggressive is the feeling that a razor is about to bite or shaves less than smooth, then I would agree that the RA is aggressive.

  6. Jim:
You’re the second person today who’s offered to speak to my razor for me. Maybe that’s the issue. I don’t speak fluent razor! :angry032:
  7. My wife had me sign a check for her earlier today, and it wasn't until I finished that I noticed I had signed with her Bic "For Her" pen. Needless to say, I was overly emotional all morning and had an overwhelming desire to talk about my feelings while at the same time getting upset if anyone offered solutions. Even my unfair stereotypes about women were making me furious. I had to get back in touch with my Y chromosome side with a face-shaving.

As per Terry's suggestion, I decided to remove the spline of my SS gem blade (3), and throw it into my MMOC. Just looking at the de-splined blade did the trick.

Perry's @PLAla generous additional PIF of Barrister's Reserve Cool is a very manly scent. I was going to use it tomorrow, but this was an emergency. Fantastic slick, shiny lather. The scent seems vaguely familiar to me, but I can't put a finger on it--fantastic stuff though.

Very light 2-pass, no touch-up shave has me at DFS/CCS and no irritation. I found that I'd get an audible, ringing feedback if I strayed too much from riding the cap. I think all my shaves with this razor will be spline-less--quite enjoyed it.

Followed up by applying the leftover lather to my face with the addition of a single drop of Frost Drops to bring the cool into Cool. Quick, cold rinse and application of AV Blue, and I'm feeling my insensitive self again ;)

  14. Off the top of my head I have two razors that feel like they'll bite without warning, the Blackbird with the open comb plate and the Timeless Bronze OC. I really have to pay attention with those two.
  15. cool shave and pic Tim..
  16. Great restorative shave, Tim!
