Bigelow Dollar Tree bowl Brass handle w/Gillette Trac II Plus (3) 3 passes, touch up Cold rinse Alum Thayer's Witch Hazel Duke Connor Ice Cold AS Balm AV Classic Ice Blue I can't dial in the Trac II. Closer shave than yesterday, but a lot of redness. The alum really bit. The original boar knot in the ER whipped up a great lather. I think I'll keep the knot, polish the handle, and repaint the letters.

Wednesday 22nd January Simpson 'Duke 2' in Best - Stirling Glastonbury - Weishi Adjustable V2 with a Feather - Pashana Original AS Just on a whim I pulled out the Weishi Adjustable. It's good to see some original design coming out of China. 3 passes for a perfect finish
Very pleased with my shave this morning. The large Stoylin brush fit nicely into the Lumberjack(The Soap Exchange)for a healthy round(so to speak)of loading. Course that means the brush would fit into ALL 4 oz soaps(or larger, in the case of Stoylin soaps themselves). 2 fine passes, the second being quite necessary as once again I had the brush under the tap water too long, thus it settled down for pass 2. I did much better on the right side of the front of my neck than with previous shaves(the last 2 or 3). The Agadir aftershave says "Cooling" on it, and it did indeed come out on the cool side at first, but blended in well enough with the warmth the Texas soap provided. Funny-it made me think that Clubman-which also says "Cooling" on it-has never come out so as to "cool" the skin. I think I know why-Agadir has kaolin clay as part of its ingredients, whereas Clubman has no clay. Quite excellent shave. . Might even take it to a 3rd consecutive day.

I refreshed this Suzumasa the other day along with a couple of others. I hadn’t used it in quite awhile but was excited to bring it back into rotation after I felt the refreshed edge with my thumb. SOTD 1/22/20 Pre- Nivea Men's Face Wash & hot water Soap- Proraso red Brush- Omega 626 badger Bowl- Captain's Choice Razor- OneBlade Core Blade- Feather (3) Post- Classic Shaving alum, cold water rinse, Thayer's WH AS- Aqua Velva Ice Blue Music: Damn Right I've Got The Blues, Buddy Guy Although I'm disappointed in shave number 3 with the Feather blade, feeling tugging at the hairs, Proraso provided very nice moisture and glide, as there was no feedback from the alum and no sting from AV. I was expecting more irritation due to the dull blade feel. Oneblade is so mild on my face, that's what I'm most impressed with. Needed a 3 pass and I actually did the 3rd one with my Gillette Atra, which I usually use above my lip area in the nooks and crannies. Good day and great shaving all.
Here it is for Throwback Thursday: same products as today, BUT.... Brush-Jayaruh #59 (I noted in an earlier Throwback menu that Oud Wood goes back to 1400 BC. Not sure I can say the same for the Jayaruh brush though ).
