Happy Friday everyone! Kind of amazing how a shave can set the tone for the whole day. Mine went like this:
- Razor--Flare Tip with Personna blade (6)
- Soap--Texas on Fire
- Enhancements--Frost Drops
- Post shave--AV Blue Ice splash and Glacial Unscented Balm

Learned a bit from yesterday's too-quick shaving experience, and took my time. Started off with a cold-water wash/rinse (one drop of Frost Drops added to my soap), and lathered up the Texas on Fire.
I have to say that I like this scent more and more as I use it. For some reason the cedar really started to step up today, but still played nicely with the smokiness and leather. The smoke, to me, is not acrid in the least. There is a subtle sweetness mixed throughout, which must be the vanilla, but my nose can't identify it as vanilla. That's awesome, because I get put off when vanilla starts to step on the toes of other scents--not happening here. Again, there is some sort of spiciness flitting around the background, but I don't know what it is. The best I can do is say that it reminds me a bit of cinnamon, but not quite. Lovely, but a manly kind of lovely
3 wonderfully smooth passes later (WTG, XTG, ATG), and I am BBS all over. I took the remaining lather, added a single drop of Frost Drops, reapplied the soap to my face, then went about cleaning up. Another cold water rinse, and this shave was as good as logged. But it has still stayed with me...
My wife made waffles for the kids yesterday, and froze the remaining ones for me to enjoy this morning. Usually I just throw them into the microwave and eat them rubbery and blah, but I was feeling so good today that I took the extra 2 minutes to toss them into the toaster oven--warm, crisp waffles for breakfast. Lovely, but a manly kind of lovely. While I sat down to eat, I saw this left on the table by my 7 year old daughter...

...and I thought to myself, "That is so true, mythical-looking-nectar bird!" Which is weird. Freakishly weird, because what I normally see when I encounter trite phrases that are meant to sing within the hearts of 7 year old girls who are constantly forgetting to put away their coloring books from the night before is something a little more akin to...

...this!
But not today. Today I am not only never-letting-go-of-my-dreams, I am living them.
I drove through dense,
dense fog to get to work today, knowing that it was going to be a foggy day schedule, yet not upset that I would have to stay later on a Friday afternoon than usual. And then, as if to reward me for having such a fantastic attitude, the fog gave way a little as I approached my school site. I checked for delays and... regular schedule! Which means I'm going to get home to the family on time today to start my weekend
Yup. Life is good this Friday. Hope yours turns out equally well
