Ha, I agree completely! When an SVP only gets half their bonus for overspending we get to have a lot of meetings to discuss it. I think we could save a lot of money having fewer SVPs.
At another place we had 1 HR staff for every 4 employees. A bit of overkill I'd say. When asked for the truth in a meeting I always spoke my mind.
I thought it was interesting too. The raise budgets were high. Bonuses were high with even higher potential bonuses next year, but we have to cut spending. It's crazy. I think the company as a whole is doing well it's just our SVP that is in trouble.
Thanks Tim! I still love my job. I like the challenge. I like Stetson AS. I'm really not sure how I would describe it. It's more citrusy than most scents from that era, which is probably why I like it.
Evan, does your SVP have a "custom title?" EEEEK! I lived this exact work life for many years. Rest assured, you'll eventually decompress and return to normal after you retire.
Awesome! I'm glad to hear that, Evan. My job had its share of frustrations, but I loved it too. It was challenging, and I grew and learned a lot. It is a blessing to work with great people (some of whom are now lifelong friends) and for a great company.
Thanks Charlie! Stressed SVPs don't feel stress alone that's for sure. It's just a storm. Calm weather is ahead. We'll get there. Besides I have a weekend of plating razors, turning brush handles, and enjoying my family ahead of me. Life is good!
What a way to finish the month and a tub of soap. The remaining soap was full of granules at the bottom so after 1 lather I sent it to Vahalla and cracked open a new tube of Prorazo green. Amazing shave and sure had a great time this month . Hope February is as good or better !
