  1. Not a fun way to start off the day Clint but it happens to us all. Most times its when I hurry and don't have a good focus. The last time was the blades fault. Enjoy your day!

  4. February will be a "30 Day Focus" for me! I'll be trying, and evaluating for personal preference, different blades only. Other than blades, my 30 days will encompass

    Proraso Green Cream
    Omega 48 Brush
    Wooden bowl for lathering
    3 passes (1 with, 1 across, 1 against)
Gillette Slim Adjustable set on 4
Blade used will vary (I've used a Voskhod x 3 shaves. Current my 1st down with a Feather)
Hot cloth prep "and" clean up
    Cold water splash after
    Nivea "Sensitive" Balm

Average shaving every 3 days mostly.
  5. Were your shaves bloodless, Blair? I have been speaking to many different owners on the shave forums as well as on FB, and most told me it took them quite awhile to reach the bloodless shave level. It sounds like you’re there. I’m waiting to receive my RA back from RE. The head alignment was off on my razor. I just don’t know if I want to take the time to learn this one. The only adjustables I own that I love are my two Gibbs. I may just leave well enough alone and sell the RA when it is returned. I just have too many other razors that shave beautifully for me.
  6. Wonderful picture, Jim! That is the last of the PAA?

  9. SOTD February 3, 2020

Prep: Cold water and PAA Cube pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline
    Razor: RazoRock Black Hawk
    Brush: Stirling Kong synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Dirty South Shavers
Post: Witch hazel, Fine L'Orange Noir aftershave

Nice and easy one pass shave. The Hawk mows it down and I didn't chase any kind of results. The DSS soap was terrific and I enjoyed the finish from Fine L'Orange Noir. All came together quite well.

    Enjoy your day!

  13. Clint, sorry about the rough shave. Your photo is outstanding as usual. The bad shaves help us realize how many good ones we have and that we take those for granted, or at least it does for me.

    February 3 SOTD:

    Razor: Schick Krona
    Blade: Polsilver
    Brush: PAA The Green Ray
    Lather: PAA Tombstone
    Aftershave: PAA Tombstone

Tombstone is up this morning for a fine Monday shave. At first sniff, the sulfur/gunpowder jumps out on this one. This is quickly followed by a little bergamot adding a nice citrus note. The tobacco and leather begin to work into the picture for this blend of scents you can feel coming from the old west. After a bit the sulfur fades from prominence and a lovely rose comes on the scene. This floral note really balances well with the leather and slight tobacco notes still present. The sulfur note is still there, keeping this from being sweet, but it is very much a supporting cast member by this point. It really is a lovely scent, and I am amazed at how far down my list it falls, and how far down it will be when I add a few more ahead of it.

The Krona gave me a nice, easy two pass DFS. I hope everyone has a great day!
