Thanks, Patrick! Proraso may not be flashy and the scent isn't strong, but it does the job.

Actually, after reading a couple of your shave reports, I looked it up just to see what it was all about. Such a highly rated razor, and the price point is incredibly tempting. I've bought 2 Razorocks, and have enjoyed using them both. I didn't know the Lupo was modeled after a Wolfman razor (now that I know this, the name 'Lupo' makes an awful lot of sense). Once I try my hand again with a shavette later on this year, I might wind up giving the Lupo a spin once RAD starts to kick in (usually around November... got no idea why that is).

    Stirling Royal soap and AS

Well friends this is it, this is my setup for the first half of February. Ever since Jim @jluc let me borrow his Timeless Bronze I've been on the lookout for one. Finally my search paid off and I found one well below retail. In honor of Jim and his fine enabling skills I decided to use a blade that came my way from him as well. I made a wonderful slick super goop lather in the tub of soap and then proceed to ruin it in the hot scuttle. It did come back together a bit on the face but nowhere near as nice as it was before it hit the scuttle. With a nice layer of lather going I put the razor to my face. This is one of the smoothest razors I've ever used. If I hadn't just put the blade in the razor I would have been checking to make sure it was there. Three silky smooth passes later and the baby was in the house. I finished with a generous splash of the AS and even got a comment from my wife that I smelled good. Not too bad for a light unassuming scent! Have a great day my friends, happy Monday!

    Tim:
Don’t waste your money on the aluminum version. The SS is not readily available, but if you keep checking periodically, you’ll see it come available generally every three months or so. When it does jump on it because there are always a lot of others waiting as well. He does three hundred in a batch and they tend to sell out within a few hours of its becoming available. I would check out Ruds Shaves reviews on YT for both the aluminum and SS versions, and you’ll see why. Ruds is a bit low key (as in flat affect), but he knows his stuff and has never steered me wrong!

Mailcall #2 today. Wasn't expecting these so soon and was hoping that I would get my rule done first but I'm still happy to have them in hand . Fast shipping from India.

Thanks, Tim! I’ve never been a fan of the Gillette adjustables. So not a big deal. The only adjustable that I currently like is the Gibbs. My Rex will be returning in the next week or so, but I’m not optimistic about it staying in my den. We’ll see! It gets one more try.

I thought for sure you would gravitate towards the OC.
I have the Aluminum Lupo. I don't find it to be a waste of money at all. Wonderfully smooth razor. Other than weight what's different about the SS version?

I've got friends down here reading for me and providing executive summaries at 1600 daily. We meet at the shaved ice hut.
It helps to have a system. You'd think these young guys would have figured that out by now. I'm almost certain nobody is looking at The Cartel Handbook. Looks like we need to re-institute the 30DC Orientation Course for new members with the corresponding 250,000 Ruble tuition fee.

Looking at our group demographics, though, it would be easy to justify "grandfathering" most of the existing 30 DC members.

It’s weight and head shaving. I had the aluminum, and didn’t find it to be as efficient as the SS VERSION, a point supported by Ruds Shaves review. Head shaving introduces different variables, but the efficiency issue is where I cut bait. I sold my aluminum after seeing the Ruds review and waited to scoop up the SS version. There is a marked difference in efficiency for me given YMMV.
