Just received today and used my British Pre War Tech #44. Nice shaver and I'm liking the Flat Bottoms. This past weeks I'v used the Brit Flat Bottom New everyday except for today. I'm pretty stuck on MDC Rose and I'm a big fan (HUGE) of Old Spice, especially the Original from India. Blades? I've got a million of them but I too am a huge fan of the Gillette Platinum Blue Box kind of guy.. Always use an alum block post shave as well as witch hazel and Thayer's is my main squeeze. I prefer to shave before showering and I always use Noxzema gently massages and about a minute and a half of hot wash rag. Life is good.
And lately I'm using nothing but synthetic shaving brushes. It's hard to beat success ..

Both Brit Tech and Brit New are in fine mechanical shape, good shavers. The years have polished some of that new finish off a bit but then again, I didn't give $200 plus for either. I love the bling but I'm not willing to shell out that kind of money. I'm chasing the shave.

and they shave well.and both are 75 + years old..

That would make those razors damned darned near as old as me.

Here we are at Friday once again and after a very long week on the road, it was nice to get back to normal routine. So I decided to grab a beauty from the collection in my Gillette Sheraton. This gem has been replated by Chris Spencer at BackRoadsGold in 24k and stunning it is. Loaded up with a fresh Voskhod.

Soap of the day, Stirling Agar which I love with the matching AS. Can’t say enough about it and yet have said all there is to say. Superb. Today however marks the debut of quite a brush. In this case the Paladin Jade Sumo in 26mm Select Badger. Wow! This is perhaps the softest brush I have ever used and an incredible lather machine. Handle is super comfortable. I can now see why so many love and acquire Paladin brushes of all kinds. Looking forward to many more shaves with this beauty.

Quite a nice and smooth three pass shave. Excellent! Topped off with some Prada Amber Pour Homme Intense and all set for the day and the weekend.
