A pleasant enough Shave today with a pretty good finish, though I think it maybe time for a Blade change.

  4. Today's shave was slightly rushed but overall pretty good. I've been enjoying cold water shaves lately.

My first use of this particular Razor, I do already have a Black version. I have put off using it until I was back on stand up Shaves. I am always a bit wary of changing Razor formats in case I got any required technique wrong. However, today not a problem as I remembered that this Razor needed the lightest of touches. I did enjoy the Shave, but am beginning to think that honestly some Razor formats are better at delivering safe close all Shaves than others. For instance I find it harder to get the closest of Shaves with Gem SEs around the jawline/ neck, than I do with some of my
AC/ SEs. Today the finish apart from around the neck was a lot better than I get with a lot of my Vintage SEs.

The Pharoah's Dreamsicle Shave Soap face-lathered well with Bunny B-400 by Tom badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Russian SHaDE Razor with Personna Half Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pharoah's Dreamsicle AS. 9. I had a great shave today with the Gem Featherweight Deluxe and a 3rd use Meijer blade. To bad the gold wash is faded so much on this one. I really like the groved handle on the Featherweight because of the positive grip and feel it gives. These are great razors. I just have to do a bit more buffing in tough spots than some razors. However doing so the results are close with very little irritation. Some razors make me pay for buffing on the neck.[br]The Stirling Pharaoh's dreamsicle lathered well with cold water on SHD two band badger.[br][br][IMG]medical anthropologist salary

I have to call this razor beard buster. It took out 2 days growth which for me is probably 5 to 7 for most anyone else like a champ. This was after another razor that usually performs well fell flat with both a Schick single and Schick II blade which is the Supply V2 w/3 dot plate. The Supply V2 was like dragging a butter knife across the face with that much hair. If the I2 is a beard buster the Supply V2 is more like a skin scraper.

  12. Cool razor! Haven’t seen one like that before. @Linuxguile do you have a prototype like this?
  13. Thanks! Got lucky when I found this one for a song last year. It even still had the original red blank blade in it.

After the TNNSER yesterday I just had to use one of my favourites - an ER "Streamline". This is a less forgiving Razor than the TNNSER, but I regard it as my best SE Razor, having got used to it in my early days of SE use. For me the "Streamline" finish was much better around the jawline and neck, but I think the TNNSER would be popular with most users.

    Have some great shaves!
  18. fantastic shave and pic Ron.love the SMDF..awesome classy scent and performance..
  19. Today's shave featured a Gem Jr. Parade with 4th use Meijer blade and a Schick Type B repeating razor with a new Proline B20. I haven't used this Schick much because the head was loose and would pivot during shaving. Tightening the screw didn't help. So yesterday I disassembled it and tightened the gap where it pivots. Success now it is very tight and doesn't move while shaving. I did most of the shave with the Schick and my wife shaved the back of my neck for me with the Gem.

The Mer Shavings Fougere Orange lathered well with cold water on the SHD two band badger brush. A great shave altogether.
