Took the MK 32 for yet another ride this morning.
Stropping progression:
1) CrOx Linen, 10 Laps
2) SRD 3" Leather, 40 Laps
Two shaves ago, the pins on this razor were tight enough to keep the blade open.
Now... that does not seem right.
The Belgian shave cream was also up again, and will be through the rest of the month.
I did end up giving the jar a good stir, as there was a color discrepancy in the soap.
Mixed it back up ad we're good to go.
Took a finger-full and smeared it on the bottom of my Aesop SS bowl.
Started with a soaked brush, but I did squeeze the water out of the knot.
Adding water slowly and twice emptying the knot of its contents, I ended up with a
rather loose lather with mucho slickness.
The edge of the Heiljestrand was keener after the CrOx linen than yesterday.
No mis-steps at all with the shave. Skin completely intact.
Post shave was two healthy splashes of the Clubman SR.
Dr. Mrs. Primo comes up the stairs and says: "What's that smell?"
"It smells like cleaner...like the dog s**t and you cleaned it up".
Yesterday was a twofer, so I am still 2 for two.

It has been a nice relaxing morning so far. I slept in just a bit, got up made waffles for the kids, and then had a nice shower and shave. This would be another soap that I wonder why it took me so long to try. I think I first saw it when @Drygulch used it a while back; it is a homage to Gillette Sun Up from the 60's. I can't comment on how accurate that is, perhaps Adam could, as I seem to remember him having the original. Either way, this feels like a Musk right out of the 60's to me. It opens with a nice dose of Lavender and a bit of a bitter citrus mixed in. The Musk makes its appearance rather quickly, but there is a nice powdery Sandalwood scent as well. This really balances everything out. One the dry down, the Musk gets a bit if an amber type note and the powder becomes more noticeable. A little Vetiver creeps in as well. This is a nicely done scent and I really enjoy it. Apparently, Sun Up only had a 6 year or so run, which is surprising if it smells anything like this. I hope everyone has a great day

Kind of a bizarre shave today, but still... bloodless (though I don't quite know how). Next in the rotation was the Ever Ready 1912. A mild and smooth shaver usually, but the last time I used it, things felt rough and she bit me. Today was the same experience, minus the blood. Frustrating, but ultimately I think I figured it out. There it is, all brassed out with a couple of pitts, and I love the thing flaws and all. Even if it shaved me rough today.

Week 2 Gear

The Shave...
...went poorly. All passes. It got the job done, but it was tuggy, and the angle that usually works for me wasn't. Probably should have checked the blade, but I tend to think these things are my fault; they usually are--this time was no exception. All three passes went without blood drawn, but at the end of my final pass, the rinse stung. Time and further scrutiny revealed nothing. The shave was a win.

Stoopid Is as Stoopid Does
Upon cleanup, I was going to just rinse the razor and put it away like my DE's. That's what I did last time. But this time I thought, "Hey, I don't clean out my DE's (non-TTO's) because I don't want to disassemble the razor. If the razor is designed to more easily access the blade, I'm taking advantage of the design feature." Must have been inspired this morning. I quickly pull out the blade while turning to start cleaning my gear. Rinse the brush and shave bowl, rinse the 1912 inside and out, dry it, and turn to the blades. Yes, I said blades. I'm staring at the counter and two gems are staring right back at me. "Huh... ohhhhhhh!" That explains the shaves, but I still have NO idea how I was shaving with two gems stacked one on the other. I shave without my glasses, but I am not that blind. I do, however, suffer from a chronic case of morning-stupid--not at my best when it's early.

Scores
Comfort: noticeable, even moderate irritation this morning. Score: 2
Closeness: Mostly BBS with some DFS spots. Score: 4

Great report Tim. At least you figured out what was causing your problem. Honestly I didn’t know 2 blades would fit in a 1912.

Beard isn't growing back as quickly as it used to, but the shaves remain outstanding with this equipment. This brush is probably #1 in my den. I am also really enjoying this soap. the Floid F/Extra is nothing short of a great aftershave IMO. Happy Sunday!

Post: Witch hazel, Country Club for Men Modern Fougere aftershave

Excellent shave this morning. 48+ hours of growth taken care of easily with the Pushbutton. Slick, shiny lather from the Stirling meet-up soap and a wonderful finish from the Country Club splash. It's a definite loss to the wet shaving community when Country Club owner Kevin decided to close shop. I can understand with so many artisans and quality products. It wasn't his full time job. Regardless, the products were outstanding.

My Rocky gave me a nice lather with this smoky/sweet lavender soap. I like it because it smells great off the puck and on the face. However, the scent doesn't have staying power and that's fine with me. The soap is slick, but it isn't as voluminous as Stirling. On a 36 hr growth, 2 passes gave me a nice IBSS ++, but reopened a weep. Again, no irritation was to be found. Finished with the matching AS and the Nivea. Have a great Sunday, guys! I finished off the 3-fer of P.A.A. BOOMTOWN and Clubman Special Reserve. I was very pleased. It was one of my many where I did a bit too much blooming of the brush(Stoylin 26x41 Synth), which led to a bloomed soap, but the second pass made up for what lacked before the first one(it was drier than during the first). I must be approaching the Kokum Butter aspect of the soap, as it's getting quite bright and slippery. . For kicks, I'm going to see if I can see my shadow in the thing(chuk yuk yuk). I've been thinking that this PAA soap(as well as others that have the Kokum butter)could serve as a precursor to the Bill Neumann soap(s). Both have great "skin food". I'll give myself a Quite Excellent for this one...as I did notice some redness, but they were very tiny weepers.

Shaved last evening after a busy day of fun family stuff. Rotated back to fave combo #1 for a two pass shave. The MonoBilt does two pass shaves better than anything in my den. Chores around the house today after a day of play yesterday. I’ll get some lathe time in this afternoon as well.

Broken record. Love the RedTip Voskhod combo. Shave 2 on a Voskhod is even better. I my try corking a few times to see it there is anything to it.

I think the MWF with the hybrid brush is my favorite as well. It loads faster and has a lot more scritch to it. The scuttle kept the lather so warm I jumped when applying lather for my 2nd pass.

Calling the shave DFS due to one small nick on the corner of my mouth. Smooth otherwise. Alum was warm but not bad.
