Sorry for my absence, life has been hectic lately and am having trouble keeping up with the forums. TSD was the 1st fourm I joined and have been searching the backlog of threads seeing how much things have changed over the years. Great place with great people bottom line! Went with Perfectly Natural Hop 2 It shave soap. This is a inexpensive artisan with a solid soap base and quality ingredients & scents on the natural side. This one is Grapefruit and IPA Beer. Have been sniffing many Citrus soaps In the den the past few days so it might be the start of a Citrus kick lol. Fantastic lather and managed a BBs shave with no drama. Wish the lather shot would have loaded, this stuff is shiny and makes a lather unlike any other soap I have tried (hundreds) which is really saying something. It's more of a cream puck that lathers like a sticky aloe Vera texture. The Myrsol has a bit of a Lemon Pledge vibe to it but fades quickly and feels nice on the skin. Tuesday morning: Razorock Plissoft 26mm Monster Super Speed/Derby day 4 Body Shop Maca Root SC Arko Aqua AS Gel English Leather AS Splash I had a very pleasant surprise from the Maca Root cream because years ago I used the original version of Body Shop and although it gave great lather and skincare I detested the scent, which to me was like a vitamin store. This version smells much nicer, it lathers just as well, and it’s also very skin friendly. The Arko Aqua gel has a nice scent as well as a most delightful cooling sensation and it moisturizes very well. I paid 5,00$ CAD for the English Leather aftershave and I really like the scent. Tabac Tuesday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Tabac Shave Soap Oscar11 synthetic The ALUMI-TAR by Tom Gillette Silver Blue CWS Tabac ASB The Tabac Shave Soap face-lathered well with the Oscar11 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with The ALUMI-TAR by Tom razor with a Gillette Silver Blue DE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. I started on 1 and went through 3. It was excellent. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

L SOTD 02/11/20 And so it goes, as Kurt Vonnegut was wont to say! I admit it; I’m both baffled and beguiled by this surprising shaving tool. The blade sits flat against the baseplate, but also sits on the end bars which themselves sit slightly above the inner teeth of this surprisingly subtle OC design. Does this slight gap explain the extraordinary efficiency and smoothness of this razor? It’s now day six of of a bloodless, two pass, irritation-free BBS shave of both dome and face! I would welcome any insights based on my photography or your knowledge that those of you out there would be willing to share about this grail razor of mine! RAZOR: LaResche 51 Luxe BLADE: Wizamet Super Iridium PREP: Cold water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Preshave Cube Soap BRUSH: Jayaruh Custom Boar SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Ogallala Bay Rum (SWMBO left very early this AM)
SOTD, Feb 11th 2020, Flare tip Super Speed February and I was looking through my storage razors and came across my M3 Black handled Flare tip, This razor is OK for daily shaving but is not as well built as my Gillette 1956 all brass nickel coated flare tip IMO. I think the handle is Aluminum and has a brass head but it delivers a good shave. Razor: Gillette regular M3 flare tip with coated black handle-MFG 1967 3 qtr Blade: Personna red (5) Soap: Colonel Conk Bay rum- Good soap Brush: Yaqi wolf whiskers 24 mm Pre-shave: Brush wash my face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area. Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 2.+(clean up) Post shave: FINE fresh Vetiver aftershave with witch hazel + Nivea Men balm. Results: CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = great shave! Have some great shaves!
