Another with my trying to master the Rex Ambassador. The Alpha 400 whipped up the Eleven DFS into a rich slick lather. Three passes with touch ups and buffing just missed the little guy. Moving to fast I did manage to nick myself just below my nose. The Rex is a pretty heavy razor and I just set it down way to hard. Otherwise a pretty decent shave this morning. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

    Great picture, Clint!
You're making me antsy to break the Ambassador out.

Nice shave Clint. I think the weight is my issue with the Rex. If i didn't alternate with so many light razors I'd get use to the weight and get better results.

    Lovely photo! Nice brush!

That sounds like an awesome trip Tim! I love family road trips. I love how quickly siblings shift from tooth and nail fighting to soft and tender kindness in the blink of an eye. It all says family to me. 4 kid road trips are fun, 9 would be +5 glorious! :D

Tallow Williams~~Mondial 26mm~~Heljestrand MK 32~~Vintage Willams Aqua Velva
Saw a Williams shave and said to myself, time to break out the Granddaddy of shave soaps.
Soaps come and go, but there will never be another Williams.

Naturally, I am referring to the original formula, with TALLOW as the FIRST ingredient.
Honestly gents, if I had to choose between spending $70 on a tub of MdC or $10 for a vintage puck
of Williams off of Ebay...the choice is a no-brainer.
Today's high-falutin soaps with exotic essential oils, which can cost $1000's of dollars
will give your soap a terrific scent, but come on...do you REALLY get a better shave?
    :signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002::signs002:
    I don't think so.
    Look at the lather.

It actually is shiny! Slick as the best soaps out there.
I added a few drops of TSD M Bomb and the menthol kick was superb.
OK, I'll get off of my Williams Soap Box now.
Got another outstanding shave from the Heljestrand.
    Three passes and while the
baby is still wandering around the house, I don't care.

Now for the pièce de résistance.
A lovely splash of the original Williams Aqua Velva.
It took some willpower to break the seal and use the first of this product,
but I thought...who am I saving this for? No one. ME!

Well it’s lucky seven with this amazing razor. This is day seven. Seven consecutive two pass, bloodless BBS shaves. Where do we go from here? Some might be content to shave with their grail razor for the rest of their days. What does one do if he’s just reached the US actuarial maximum of his mathematically allotted days of life eight days ago? I’ll tell you! He switches off to assess whether his last week of perfect shaves may be attributable to the use of his favorite soap, MWF over the last 12 days. In any case, I still have 358 actuarial days in this leap year remaining to enjoy my favorite pastime before I go to my actuarial reward! LaResche is acknowledged to have designed two superb superb safety razors - one open comb design (cf LaResche 51) and one safety bar design (cf LaResche 77). The 51 presents as my grail razor, after seven perfect irritation-free shaves. I will admit that I’ve only shaved with the 77 a few times, but they were also great shaves. Tomorrow I’ll begin a week of shaves with the LaResche 77 for comparative purposes. I will continue my focus on MWF.

    RAZOR: LaResche 51 Luxe
    BLADE: Wizamet Super Iridium
PREP: Cold Water rinse followed by a scrub with PAA’s Cube Preshave Soap
    BRUSH: Viking Silvertip Badger
    SOAP: Mitchell’s Wool Fat
POSTSHAVE: Cold water wash with brush squeezings followed by Thayers Lavender WH and finished with Aqua Velva Sensitive 5 in 1 AS Balm
