Menthol Monday's Shave Cold Water Rinse Tea Tree Body Bar Oscar11 synthetic Russian ShaDE Personna Half DE CWS Osage Rub I got a Tea Tree Body Bar at Thanksgiving and used it once to shave with (Dec 9) and then as a shower bar for two weeks. Then, I shaved it down and pressed it into this container to use for shaving. It has some menthol in it, so I have put it in my Menthol Monday rotation. The Tea Tree Body Bar face-lathered well with the Oscar11 synthetic brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Russian ShaDE razor with a Personna Half DE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Mon 10th Feb. Omega 11137 boar Lea Classic soap Ever Ready 1912- Bathroom set Gem S/S [ 4 ] Lea Classic A/S Lotion This late 1912 from the 1950s is a good little Razor, quite light with its aluminium handle it works very well with a modern Gem blade. A reasonably close all round finish attained today without any problems.
It was a Gemonday for me today. The Gem curved top squat head to be specific. Not sure if there is an official name for this razor but I really like the case it came in. I started with a 5th use Meijer SS blade however I switched midway to a new blade. I opted for Cold water and Mer Shavings fougere orange on SHD two band badger for lather.
GEMonday today, I haven't taken taken this one out of the rack for awhile and it performed nicely with a little help with prep and technique. Great shave! Razor : Gem Junior 1912 parade with the baton handle variant - Mfg 1943 Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE (3) Soap : Razorock Santa Maria del Fiore "Firenze" Brush : Yaqi wolf whiskers 24mm Pre-shave: Brush wash my face with CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area. Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 3. Post shave: Razorock Emperor with witch Hazel + Avon "True Gent" balm- very nice scent. Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = Have some great shaves!

I do have a large dial adjustable and I have seen one or two other examples. Because of this I don't think that they are a prototype, but they are very rare.

Tue 11th Feb. RazoRock Syn. 24mm Cyril Salter Solid Soap Gem Micromatic - FW Gem S/S [ 3 ] Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion. I have not had a lot of Shaves with this Razor, having rather lost it amongst of clutch of Bakelite boxes containing 1912s. It is perhaps regarded as a mild Shaver compared with the Original, but I rather enjoyed using it instead of a more aggressive version. Shave wise it delivered without any problems a decent Shave with a nice close all round finish. This I will keep in my rotation, but the E Type and Push Button may well disappear as they do not give me a wholly satisfactory Shave.

Wed 12th Feb. Simpson Chubby 1 / Maggards 2band Williams Mug soap ER 1914 - 12tooth Gem S/S [ 3 ] Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion Thought I got the lather a bit thin today, but that did not seem to hinder the ER 1914 delivering a Top Notch finish as usual. Though I prefer a 1924 it is easy to see why opinions over the 1914/ 1924 are divided.
I knew there where two different Gem clog proofs. But I didn't know there where different tooth counts on the 1914. I'll have to look at mine closer.
Most have 11 teeth this is one of last models, and also has lugs on the base plate to help secure the blade.
I had a great shave today with the TNNSER 3D using a 2nd use Meijer blade and the PAA Alpha Ecliptic with a 5th use Nacet. Most of the first pass went to the Alpha. Then things were split pretty evenly between the two till I did the back of my neck wich was all TNNSER. Tabac Lathered very well on the SHD two band badger. So much so that I even took a picture. Witch hazel with a little lotion mixed in was used for the finishing touch. A great shave all around with two great razors.
I enjoy my Micromatic flying wing(guiding eye, bullet tip....) also. 3 pass shave and it is usually a stellar of a shave I have found.

Thur 13th Feb The Grosvenor [ 404-mixed ] TBG Soap- unscented ER 1924 / Windrose handle Gem S/S [ 6 ] TBG Sixth Sense A/S Lotion Today I realised that though I am not that good with my sense of smell, I do not care for an unscented Soap. Having said that the TBG soap is very good performance wise, as it enabled me to have a smooth and comfortable shave with a super close all round finish. I do get on very well with the 1924 plus a longer handle, as it seems to make riding the cap and handling the Razor much easier.
