  1. I'm in for 100, Tim. I may use different shavettes, and I may also use a DE occasionally for various reasons. I'll mostly stick with shavettes, though. I do stints with shavettes for the same reason that Rocky went to Siberia for physical training prior to one of his later championship fights. He emerged leaner, meaner, and ready for The Big One. What's your "Big One," Tim? Scarfing down that bag of Ranch 'n Cheddar Ruffles? Driving across country with a carload of singing kids, a sultry copilot, and no Elfwiches? Composing a short story using only run on sentences and dangling participles? No mountain is too high, man!

It'll be fun, plus it will bring me joy to see you reach Jedi status.

You have two weeks to practice two things in preparation: shaving with a light touch and stretching your skin with every stroke of the blade. Get used to keeping your off-hand busy gently stretching your skin in the direction opposite of your stroke. Mastering these two skills vastly improved my DE shaves, and it allowed me to stay out of the hospital while using a shavette.

Take a deep breath, pick yourself up off the dorm room floor, clean up the puke, collect your shaving gear from under the kids' beds...and let's do it!!

  3. 9 on the adjustable will seem like a tickle on your cheek a couple days into the shavette focus. We'll be shaving on Setting Neal and screaming headlong toward the century mark!

You'll be overclocking all your adjustables come Fall. Think it. Believe it. Do it.

  7. I am pretty certain that is why God gave us at least one son, he has a way to get to me to keep from complete folding when the girls ask for something.

  11. Thanks, Jeff! Master of shave hermeneutics... I like the sound of that. It's patently untrue, but still... I like the sound of that ;)

  13. That's good advice, Bill. Nothing wrong with pushing yourself, but sometimes I try to run when I really should be walking.

  15. Might still be. I'm still in my deciding phase as to whether or not I like the burn I'm getting from Tsuka. If the answer is "no", AgadirMen is back in the game. ;)

  17. Great looking shave Jim. How do you like the Rocnel?
  18. Hopefully the shave went better than the internet, Patrick--still, with that set up, it's hard to see how it could go wrong :D

  19. Thanks, Clint! I'm hoping to end 5:2 for the week, but my last razor on the horizon is the RR Classic TTO--a bit of a wild card, that one.
