If it's like my experience, everyone you know will know you are learning to shave with a straight. You might save some time and have a teeshirt made. "Farel cat rescue society, domestication through love and affection. Have you kissed a cat lately? "
Thank you Gary, actually that is what I was hoping to see. Not what appears to be a "chunka soap" in the 4. Course it's a most excellent chunk. I can definitely work with the 8.
Anniversary SOTD: Razor: Rocnel Adjustable Blade: Polsilver Brush: PAA Starcraft Lather: Tabac Aftershave: Tabac Additional Care: Unrefined Shea Butter While the shave was definitely great this morning, the biggest thing I have to report is how blessed I am. 20 years ago today, to young adults (kids really) made what many would consider a rash decision and got married. Through lots of growth, and by the grace of God, we are still married today. Mrs. Norcal should probably be considered for sainthood for putting up with me for so long. God has blessed me with a wonderful wife and children, and I am thankful for them. I hope all of you fine men on this thread who are married give your wives a hug and tell them how thankful you are for them. Have a terrific Valentine's Day.
Well, this was my second straight "winner of a shave" this morning. The big test will be to see in future shaves whether "technique trumps tools" or vice-versa. I'll go with the former for now., but the tools I had today(finishing off my 3fer of TSE Lumberjack Soap and AgadirMen aftershave)were, and ARE, among my favorites. I'm so happy to have developed a better way to shave my neck than before. 25 seconds to load the Stoylin synthetic brush, 2 healthy passes. Some slight redness over the upper-lip, but nothing to worry about. What a Valentine's Day shave!!!
And..it's that day of the week again-and a special one at that in this World of Romance....here are your Friday Files: -I'm thankful to @brit for showing me what the 8 oz. Bill Neumann soap looks like. That will be a fun challenge, once I get around to making the purchase. Looks quite "flat" on top-similar to the Razorock Lime Burst(course the Razorock is smaller in size). -A few years ago, I made the comment that were I ever to try something other than my good ol' DisposeABLE razor, I might look into the...pardon my Senior Moment, but the one that looks like a knife(two parts). What a jump that would be, a DisposeABLE to a Swiss Army Knife. That was the razor of choice for The 3 Stooges in their cartoons, I believe. -Wish me well during my "All-Clubman Week" which begins Monday!
