Birmingham UK Honing

Hi,

This is a long shot but nothing to lose by asking.

I have a brand new straight razor (a Dovo) which I’m assuming needs a hone before I use it (I’ve tried it once - successfully - but it was a little uncomfortable). It was quite an expensive item so I’d like to get it done professionally and locally if at all possible for the first time. I’m in Birmingham, England. I don’t suppose anyone knows of somewhere I could take it? I plan to buy some cheap second hand razors to practise on at some point but in the meantime I’d love to get this one up and running properly.

Thanks for the info. As @Jamie Mahoney is in South Wales and in the middle of a storm I suspect he may have more pressing matters at the moment!

I believe Jamie uses waterstones, so it should be fine.
