  1. thank you Tim..i will pare down my collection at some point as i have a few duplicates ,but it will never be less than 20..just too many fine gillette shavers to choose an absolute favorite deserted island razor..i could go to 10 but i would miss a bunch..;)
  2. thank you Jeff.it's a 1940 u.s gold prewar tech set.. 1940 Gold Tech tweed grained case_edited.jpg

  4. That's gorgeous, Gary! May you have many years of great shaving with it. Also, thanks for the info.

  5. I know! Between the price, and Mantic58's cold-dead-hands seal of approval, I was expecting great things. I used that razor for two years, but only ever got 'good' things. As is my way, I blame myself more than the tool. With a true focus on it, I'm sure I could master the Variant. I just don't know if I want to at this point.

BTW, I've been following the 'Another Creation' thread off and on. That TAR is pretty freaking boss! I'm very interested to hear about your experiences with it :D

  8. sorry about the sub par shave Tim,but a valiant effort indeed..tomorrow is a new day..;).ever tried a gillette tech?
  9. thank you Tim.the prewar techs are the most efficient gillette techs out there, with some fine brit variants of course..if you can master a 3 pass bbs with a tech you should have your technique dialed.imo of course..they have a great sweet spot, but require consistent technique to get the best results.:)
