Thanks, Patrick! I am getting another brush and it's a special order. I do not want to get into specifics here and on the 30DC thread. Jim just sent for the materials and hopefully I will have the brush in a few weeks. I am excited and can't wait to show it off.
I love Jims work. #241 that I have is like no other. When I pick up a handmade brush it has a feeling that no mass produced handle can give you. That adds to the whole shaving experience to me .
That is so true because you feel the connection between the maker and you. He definitely does wonderful work. In all honesty, I wasn't thinking of buying his brushes until I won my #290 in the recent TSD raffle.
Imagine my joy when I get to use my #7. Makes me wish I'd have gotten a better knot. I'm a little sad every time it sheds a hair or two.
I see brushes on the net going for 300 bucks and they aren't near as nice as Jims. I felt like I stole mine .
Save yourself the grief and just reknot it . You will enjoy it way more then. That handle is beautiful!
My badger/boar knot shed like yours for about a month and then it stopped. Don't give up on that knot just yet. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk
I won't give up on it, just use it. Is a whipped dog silvertip. It functions very well, just sheds a few hairs. But the handle is among my favorites.
Beautiful, Jim! I will pay the balance. Thank you! Thank you, Bill! It will arrive sometime next week.
I have to say the JR #386 is a wonderful brush. It is beautiful and a great latherer. This is my 3rd shave setup using this awesome brush. Here is the pic:
Is that the Maggards Badger/Boar Knot that's installed in your brush?. Clayton Sent from my SM-A705U using Tapatalk
