This was yesterday's shave, but didn't have time to post it. For this shave, I was just trying out a couple of items. First the Rolls razor, which I spent some time honing and stropping the blade. I tested the blade by using it on my arm, and now I have BBS areas on it, and then stropped it a little more. It did feel like using a straight razor and I used different angles to find which one worked the best. On some areas, I left the top of the blade off my face about an eighth of an inch, some areas flat against my face. Taking my time, I achieved BBS areas on my cheeks, and DFS under my goatee. As for the soap, I used an Amish bar soap which I shaved off some into a bowl. It lathered OK, but it didn't stay long on my face. It also didn't have the slickness that I like, as there is no clay in it. It would probably work better if it was used by just using your hands to make the lather then applying it to your face. The next time I use the Rolls, I'll use one of my better soaps and should get a better shave.

Feeling down with this head cold I have. Needed a shave though.

As far as 'the stuff' goes, I know it is a lot, but it is the way it was for my first 30 day rule. It never failed me so I go back to it once in awhile.

I was after total comfort today so I did the hot towel routine and everything else.

Went for 4 light touch passes and finished up with as good a straight shave as I ever got. Relaxing and fun.

The Sunday Shaver was sent out for a 30k Shapton edge, which was quite edgey. I mellowed it out some on pasted balsa.

Saturday evening and I have one shave left to make three on the Super Speed with Rapira PL. It's also a Soap Commander night. Getting closer to having this one gone. The ring of death is definitely receding further but it keeps producing copious amounts of lather! With the big Stirling synthetic I could have made enough lather to wash an entire house! Three full passes and all's well! BBS finish and I'm settled back in after yesterday's detour. Chances are I'll pick up the 1918 with Carbon Silver from Treet and give it a couple more runs over the next few days.
