    Hi
How do you restore a blade with decol or logo on with destroying it

I think I recall someone preserving an area with nail polish.
After the work, the nail polish was easily removed with nail polish remover.

Nail polish works OK except for sanding. You'll sand right through nail polish.

Let's see what you're trying to preserve and what you're trying to do with the piece.

The blade has a little wear to it. But, I have used nail polish, many times, to protect the gold, and etching. Works better than tape. You can even sand around it, carefully, just apply it thicker. . You can carefully use acetone(nail polish remover) to take it off, after you are finished. Acetone wont take off gold wash. Sometimes the nail polish will leave a hazed look on the metal. Just take a fine metal polish, like FLITZ, and a Qtip, to work it out, without touching the gold.

How do I get the bone on the handle
To look at bit better I was going to
    unpin and then clean
And rear pin it back on
It is on the handle and the tang as well

Be Careful that doesn't look like Bone on the Tang

That is a covered tang and it looks like Celluloid, it doesn't like Strong chemicals

If you get Acetone on Celluloid it is GONE and it melts pretty damn quick

    Just my Opinion:

That razor has some pretty heavy Hone Wear, it is what we often call "A Shaver"
It will hone and shave just fine, it will never be a Beauty Queen, but she will dance around the face after just a cleaning and time on the hones..

To clean up the scales, especially since it has a covered tang, first remove the blade.
Once removed, clean the scales with warm soapy water, and a toothbrush. Rinse well.
Them, just submerge the scales in some Hydrogen Peroxide. Take out every.day.or so, to scrub down. Leave in for a.few days, until it looks like you want it to. You might need to repolish the scales after the soak. Then, a little mineral oil.
I've done this a few times. Sometimes they dont whiten up as much as you might like, and you just have to call it quits.
