  2. Tim. We are cut from the same crazy cloth. I keep trying to make it with that machete! I like the idea of keeping it alive, the history that piece of metal has seen. Yours is gorgeous. Man that thing is niiiiice. The detailed engraving on the handle is beautiful. Once a year on the weekend i will continue to scar my face i guess. Lol. Love yours

During my 100 days of Straight Razor Boot Camp I came to the point I knew was going to stick with edge forward shaving devices. I purchased this
Razor as my baseline for sharpness to my trainer and it still is for all my straights. It was honed on a coticule by Jarrod at The Superior Shave. It has had some minimal time on pasted strops. The only straight I have that beats it is my Gustave Lalune.

In spite of the fact that the Cocobolo scaled Sunday Shaver did so good yesterday, I'm going to work it on my coticule a bit to see if I can bring it up to this one for smoothness. Not a bad shaver but comparison is the root of all inferiority.

Same shave but stopped at 3.5 passes, relaxing and fun, just a little smoother.

  6. It's time for another shave with "PINK THING". Fantastic 2 pass shave, with BDBD results. Only minor touch up, under the chin. Excellent made razor, that can take and hold a great edge.

Razor- Geneva Cutlery Corp. Geneva NY
Brush- JR#262(@Jayaruh ). Ebony/Birdseye Maple. Silvertip Badge knot.
Soap/Cream- AOS Kingsman, "Bourbon" scented. Excellent shave cream.
Aftershave- Vintage Avon Spicy. Willy's Jeep Decanter.

  7. Cleaned up my *new* vintage 1955 Gillette Flare Tip and had my first shave with it tonight. Only close to a 2 day growth so it was a bit early and a somewhat aggressive shave, but what a terrific razor! New Astra SP blade, and I went with Proraso Green cream knowing I'd get an excellent lather. A DFS-BBS combo with 2 weepers around the lip as I pushed it to see how close and aggressive I could get. A mild razor but not as mild to me as my Merkur 34c, at least my first impression.

Added in some Nivea balm after the alum gave me some neck feedback.

Pre- Liquid Neutrogena & warm water face wash
    Razor- 1955 Gillette Flare Tip
    Blade- Astra SP (1)
    Soap- Proraso Green tube
    Brush- Omega 636 21mm silvertip
    Bowl- Captain's Choice
Post- Classic Shaving alum, cold water rinse, Neutrogena Toner
AS- Nivea sensitive skin balm / Proraso Green

  12. Thank you Gary. The F Type has been a target of mine for a long time and I haven't been this excited in awhile about a razor acquisition. It is in pretty good shape and the first 2 shaves have been excellent and extremely smooth. Schick injectors really rate high in my experience. I hope to get many great shaves from this beauty. So far this has been my favorite injector from the small collection I have.
