Hi guys, I've only started wet shaving for about a month and I'm loving it. Glad to join you guys! Hope to learn from all of you! Best regards, Russell
Welcome! Have fun and enjoy the resources... I’m just a couple weeks new and already learned and benefitted immensely!
Welcome to TSD, Russell! Some super knowledgeable folk here--glad you're going to be one of them. If you're wanting to quickly sharpen your shave skills, check out the 30DC thread . Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Russell, welcome to The Shave Den! I'm from Kentucky, and my name is Charlie. It's great to have you here with us. I echo Tim's comment above about the 30 Day Rule / Focus thread. It's a great place to develop skills, help others, and hang out. Please join us if that interests you.
Welcome aboard. So what razor and blade(s) are you starting out with? If you get into the hobby/ collecting side of shaving or into being proficient with different types of razors you'll wind up with a few more as your journey progresses.
I started out with the EJ DE89L with the Astra blues. Got a 1966 Gillette Flair Tip for about SGD12 so I would say I'm walking down the collecting side of shaving. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Gillette flair tip is a nice razor to shave with if you like something that is mild but more aggressive than modern butterfly style razors. You'll also find that some blades are better than others if you decide to experiment and try different ones. If what you are using works well for you now no need then. The only problem you might run across is counterfeit blades. One blade that you have to be careful of is the Astra platinum blades which are counterfeited because they are popular among wet shavers. The counterfeited blades will shave like garbage compared to the legit ones.
That's good information! I didn't know that blades would be counterfeitted. I like my flair tip very much! Although it's not as efficient as my DE89, it is a lot smoother which I like. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
