I haven't bought any straight razors in a while but I couldn't pass this J.A. Henckels #16 at an antique store today. And it was an additional 20% off the tag price. I think I did pretty good.
Need to bump the size up a bit. 10/8 Marsden razor. This is how it looked prior to restoring. The razor is on it's way back to MN after being restored by Karl Johnson.
Thank you. Yeah maybe not a daily shaver but definitely a historical piece. Karl saved the scales so except the new pins it's all original. Will post more pics after it arrives.
New gift I got yesterday. The special I have had for a while now. The royal needs light sanding on the blade. Now I need the HF and Blackie.
Here’s a poor eNay razor that no one wanted. 7/8 Clauss Barber’s Special. It looks better in person than in the image, and it still has the Kapton tape on the spine. Full 7/8 to the spine shoulder with little wear. American razors this wide are rare so I’m glad to have it. It’s full hollow, and looks stubby but apparently that’s the width messing with the proportions that we’re used to. I asked over on SRP and it’s the same length as one that Outback (Mike) has.
George Wostenholm & Sons Sheffield It has good potential. Just a little blade massaging, and some new scales, to replace the Bug Bitten ones. I picked it up, for a very good price.
Filarmonica 14 Doble Temple Spain This one came from from Moracco. It is in need of some major work. But, I like rescue razors.
I'm hoping it shows the attachments. Did Peter J Michael's re release the C-MON Cadillac razor. The two I have the one on the bottom feels cheap compared to the one with clear scales. It doesn't even have the inlay for C-MON just painted on.
I have two new razors inbound. I cant wait to get both. I will post more pics once I get them. First is a Dubl Duck Goldegde. It also comes with a Dubl Duck Imperial Russia strop. I hope both look as good in person as they did online. Next is a Royal japanese blade. This thing looks to be NOS. But even if it isn't it is gorgeous.
