@Suhrim21 the only other number designation is 2002. I bought 4 Japanese razors in the last month or so, all are wonderful shavers. This will need new scales at some point. The scales are cracked at the pins.

Is there a way to make a set of scales identical to those ones?

I used this Thistle this morning. This is one of a few eBay “gambles” that should be arriving in the next few days. I think I paid $30 with shipping for this one. The pictures weren’t great, but the ones there looked good. In this case, the razor was in great shape. I need to clean the scales and I’ll probably touch up the edge, but otherwise I see no issues with the razor. It shaved nicely this morning with just a tiny bit of tugging ATG.

Shave #79 with the Filly 14 Sub Cero. I’ll probably do it tomorrow too, I’m looking to do 30% or ten shaves/month to keep the test going. Cream was SMN lathered with a Simpsons 59, and ABC almond balm finished up a DFS. I added 20 linen after this shave.

How do you like that soap? I got some a week or so ago, but haven’t used it yet.

Todays is one of my favorites, a big 8/8 Mike Martinez, 3/4 hollow with a smile. She sports a velvet edge that is sharp as a laser.

I’m a fan of A&E... high quality like the other good artisans, but I think their scent quality is top shelf.

    Cold Water Rinse
    Mitchell's Wool Fat
    B-400 Badger
    Henry Taylor 5/8
    CWR
    Cella Balsamo Dopobarba

The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shave Soap face-lathered well with the B-400 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Henry Taylor 5/8 gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Cella Balsamo Dopobarba. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Shave #80 with the Filly 14, so I hit my target of 10 shaves/month or about 30% duty cycle. The razor was honed on May 24th 2019 so it’s approaching 1 year at 30% usage. Not too shabby.there’s a section up near the toe showing some shiny lineys, but it doesn’t seem worse over #60. The middle of the edge is still straight and clean, I’d take that look off the hone. The razor isn’t tugging (yet), and the shave is good, but usually not BDBS.

A lovely shave this morning with a new to me Friedr Herder 6/8 I picked up on eBay. The razor is in great shape and shaves very well. It’s probably about a half hollow and it absolutely mows down whiskers. I was very close to a BBS after the first pass and the second was mostly clean up. Absolutely no need for a 3rd pass.
