    This is a WIP

    Joseph Smith & Sons
    Celebrated Razor

    These are the before pics

Yes the Hone Wear was really that bad Yes it literally looks like an X there on the front side

Bad wear and pitting on the backside

First touches using 80 Grit and Black Magic Marker to see the contact points

    More grinding

The front side needs more work

    Back Side is Soooooo Close

    240 grit final grinds

Backside after polishing note that the pitting is gone :)

I used an 8 inch contact wheel and only took out the bare minimum to even up the grind I always try and keep it as near wedge as possible and NOT hollow them out too much

More pics when I get back to the Scales tomorrow

Got the Vintage scales dialed back in, filled all the bug bites
Sanded and re-did the gold with a new Gold Paint Pen

The best part was the Bevel re-set

Thank you my friend, I am so glad the owner decided to let me go that direction, that hone wear was HUGE :p

Wow! Fantastic precision work on that re-grind, Glen. That bevel is even more amazing given the x-marks-the-spot before pic!

It might have been the worst one I have done to date, I was wondering if I was going to have the extra steel to pull it off

The before pic is amazing. How the hell do you DO that? LOL! Doing that deliberately would require some amount of skill. I have never seen the like of it!

Anyway, very nice bit of work on the regrind. I think maybe you are ready to try modding a Gold Dollar or two.
