  5. Fine shave this morning with Phoenix A.A. "Boomtown" soap(Bay Rum, Leather, Gunpowder) and Stoylin Unscented A.S. I'm a little concerned that the "Unscented" A.S. cut off the soap scent. I've seen posts saying that if you want an "unscented" product to use, make it the soap, as that gets washed off anyway before the A.S., which lingers. I thought the soap scent(this particular one, anyway)would shine through. Anyway, nice clean, fresh face and neck feel from the Stoylin A.S. Now that I've solved the problem of missing whiskers(Astroturf)on the right side of my FACE, I need to use the same method on the right side of my NECK(at just below the jawline). For this shave, I'll give it Rather Excellent.

Was rushed this morning and my lather kind of sucked compared to normal. A little irritation along the jaw line but the end results were not too bad. Not my best shave, but far from the worst. Enjoy your day.
  7. Excellent shave and review, Bill!
  8. Ok, so it wasn't an A+ shave, but it still was a Grade A shave, Clint! Have a great day amigo!

Personally I'm a fan of the Reserve base but it does have its detractors.

  14. And now, it's time once again for....your FRIDAY FILES:

-I begin with a call for help. Yesterday I did something to shrink the size of my printing...I don't know how it happened. Can someone tell me how to get the print size back to normal? Thanks in advance.
-To follow up a bit on my above post(describing my shave)I think if I want something "unscented" it be a soap, not an aftershave.
-If the gym I love closes down as I'm hearng it might, I'd love to see a Pasteur's Pharmacy built in its place!!!!
  15. Thanks Joe, feels nice anyway..that's the key. (Oh, and losing the astroturf too-whiskers, lol). I'll be asking you for the spare keys to your Chem lab as I use the unscented A.S....just need to see if SOME soaps work their way through. I don't need a Bunsen Burner for that, I would guess.

    Razor: ATT S1

    Soap: SV Felce Aromatica
    PAA Galactic witch hazel
    PAA unscented Star Jelly
    AS: SV Felce Aromatica

    Good morning

Excellent shave to start the day! Three passes for near BBS. Just a light tickle from the alum.

I used the ATT S1 Slant exclusively for my first month with the crew. The goal was irritation and blood free shaves. I made great strides towards that goal. For a long time I thought this razor was too mild, I wasn't getting very close shaves. Yup, I was blaming the tool. I did another 30 consecutive shaves with it. The goal being the same as before but adding closeness to the mix. I learned a lot about maintaining the proper angle throughout each stroke and skin stretching. The ATT S1 has been my best teacher so far. I now know that if a razor doesn't give me the results I'm looking for I just need to spend more time with it.

    Have a great day!

  18. Beautiful Black Tip shave, Gary! :D

I'm still a bit unversed in the Black Tip: blue = mild, red = aggressive, black = ...?
  19. Wow. Gorgeous picture Jim. I borrowed Wade's S1 and S2. I have never had so many cuts in 2 shaves.
  20. Thanks, Joseph... and good point! ;)
