Joseph, I looked at your pic's in the haul thread. It is indeed a floating head. Here is a pic that illustrates the difference from a non-floating head (stolen from another forum):
black tip was a version of the earlier superspeed made during the korean war era .the black tip is new to me so still researching their history.they were made from steel or aluminum due to brass shortages..
Thank you Andrew. I find the Jaws has more blade feel than the Lupo. With the Lupo, I feel I can do about anything and not get cut. Between the 2, I would pick the Jaws. One more shave with the Lupo tomorrow and I will list it on the BSTs next week.
Interesting that your experience is exact opposite to mine. I think I will have to compare them next month.
Feb 28 Good morning guys! Schick E3 razor Schick Injector SE Blade Omega Pro 49 Boar Brush Music City Suds Lavender SS and AS Nivea ASB I won this razor and the injector blades from the recent TSD raffle. It is the first time that I have ever used this type of razor. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to use it because I like to try new items ASAP. My Omega boar did a great job lathering the Music City Suds Lavender. Like all my soaps, the more I use it, the better scent quality. It's there during the shave, but it doesn't linger too long. On a 26 hr stubble, I did get a BBS shave on 2 passes, but I did get more than a few weeps. They were located on my neck(1), corner of mouth (1) and a few tiny ones (3) on the moustache area as I went ATG. Now, it sounds like I had a bad shave, but I didn't because my styptic made them disappear without any trace. I also did not get any irritation. I attribute the weepers due to my being a novice with this razor. The shave angle is different than a normal safety and I have to learn to adjust to it. Overall, I am quite satisfied with the shave. My only complaint with this razor is that it is very light and the handle is small. I would think that this wouldn't be an issue because I have small hands, but I can get used to the handle size. Have a great day guys!
Beautiful photo and set up, Jason--I'm 1/10th of the way finished with my Friday, and so far, so good. You make sure to crush yours
