What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

Spectacular shave today, with one of my favorite makers. I had a very smooth, and noisy , 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. Zero issues. Like I said one of my favorite makers. I've yet to find one that wasnt fantastic.

Brush- JR#262(@Jayaruh )
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented
Aftershave- Shulton Old Spice

 

It warms my heart, Iwasaki and Arko, it doesn't get any cooler than that..

Filarmonica 12 this morning with a sample of Castle Forbes Lavender lathered with a Semogue 620 resulted in another BBS.

Today was my 32nd consecutive shave with a straight and my technique seems to be getting incrementally better day by day. I’ve finally figured out a consistent ATG grip and stroke and, while I don’t need it every shave, it’s nice to have that arrow in my quiver.

M. L. Brandt 11/16, a very nice razor that just feels good in the hand testing out a new coti. A friend clued me in to this vintage stone which had a really good BIN and it turned out well. It’s hard, polishes well, will cut SLD steel fairly well and is fast on water. It’s also pretty with a rosy color to it. The edge, finished with running water, was stellar. Soap was ABC hard soap lathered with a Simpsons 58 and a dab of ABC balm finished up a BDBS shave.

 

I used a SR and got a wonderful shave.

Had a fantastic shave with this Vintage US Blade .Blade just came off the Thuri this morning .

 

No shaving picture, but a honing picture. I worked on these razors and used them for my shave.

The razors are from top to bottem a heljestrand frameback, tarry levigne and a Puma 22.

Shaving soap was l'occitane cade + tüff sensitiv.

A nice 3 pass BBS this morning with a Friodur 472 1/2 that I honed yesterday. The edge was great, by far the best edge I’ve gotten from honing. No tugging, no pulling, and no harshness.

Smooooooth!!!!! Excellent 2 pass shave, that left me with BBS results. Zero issues, just a fantastic shave.

Razor- Tuckmar. "Extra Ober-Prima". Silver Steel. Solingen Germany. Silberstahl Sonderklasse. Feinstes Garantiemesser. (Now that was a mouthful).
Brush- RazoRock 400. High Mountain Badger knot.
Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy scented.
Aftershave- Vintage Shulton Old Spice "Fresh Lime".

 

Tuckmar Steel can take an extremely keen and smooth edge .Same league as F.W.Engels Steel in my book .

 

I still want that razor. Though i am glad i was outbid by a member here vs a random person. I'm still searching for a blackie in great shape for a good price. I have picked up a special, royal, a true Cadillac, and the cheap Cadillac. I need a HF and Blackie to complete the C-MON set. Well at least from what I have seen for sale those are the two razors I still need.

New to me Filarmonica 13 Novadur with a great edge. I figured such a nice Spanish razor deserved a Spanish cream so I broke out the sample of Alvarez Gomez I’ve got. Exploded into a lather in the GP scuttle. All in all a very nice shave.
