  8. It was about 1 year ago I started shaving with my straight. Irritation just got worse and worse, but eventually I realized I was using way too much pressure. If the irritation keeps getting worse shallow the angle a little and focus on using just enough pressure to remove the shaving cream.

  10. March Madness/Shavettes

    Soap - Stirling Iced Pineapple
    Brush - The Canuck
    Post - Alum

Second day of the month is in the books, mostly, but the shave most definitely is. Let's get started down the shavettes in my den, starting with my best pain stick, the Feather DX. What makes it the best? The build quality, design, overall weight and balance and the smooth and natural holder with no extra lip like the SS has. I think the Feather outdoes the Kai Captain in terms of overall quality, though the Kai is a close second to the Feathers. The CJB is a bargain razor that performs well above its price range. If I could only have one and wanted to get the biggest bang for my buck the CJB would get the call.

Naturally, I paired the DX with a Feather Pro blade. I pretty much have eliminated all other blades for pain sticks. I have a few others but this is my go to. It's MENTHOL MONDAY so Iced Pineapple comes out, mostly because I saw it mentioned somewhere on here today. Made me grab it. The Canuck with APshaveco.com SynBad flat top knot made easy work of lathering.

Two passes with some touch ups. WTG then XTG to smooth things out in places. By the time I spend a few days on the painers I'll have them down pat again. For now just getting myself settled back in. I will be using other shavettes this month too so don't worry, plenty of opportunity for bloody messes. As for today, though, smooth and effective to a very ice DFS finish. That's all I could ask for. Hope you enjoyed your Monday. Have a fantastic Tuesday!!
