    SOTD:
Beautiful shaves over the last week, fantastic performance from the Credance and as usual the arko performed flawlessly.

Decided to use Godrej too as mine has started thinning out for some reason, but still lathers beautifully. Its definitely a fantastic lime scented cream.

The Credance never fails to impress with its slickness and amazing post shave feel. Its definitely one of my favourite soaps performance wise, a pity it was discontinued due to its scent which is very over powering but great after lathering.

    Shave 1:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (8)
    Cream: Godrej lime
    Aftershave: old spice whitewater

    Shave 2:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Brush: omega 49
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (9)
    Soap: arko shave stick
    Aftershave: ambassador for men

    Shave 3:
    Razor: Wilkinson sword TTO
    Brush: Wilkinson sword classic shave
    Blade: feather hi-stainless (10)
    Soap: Credance, groom dept
    Aftershave: ambassador for men[IMG][IMG][IMG]

This week I figured I'd use a few razors that are in semi-retirement. Sunday's shave was a disappointment using a RR Old Style with a Rapira LUX blade. Way too many passes in all directions and still was not stubble free. Took a day off from shaving yesterday.

Today I put the aforementioned Rapira blade in my trusty old EJ DE87 razor. Now, I used this razor exclusively for probably 8 years or so and realize it's on the mild side of the fence. But today's shave was almost as lousy as Sunday's. Finally got it down to BBS-1 or DFS+9. I guess it could be a "bad" blade even though I don't ever recall having a "bad" blade over the years.

I'm thinking that I've grown accustomed to aggressive razors which I prefer to label efficient. So....I will go back to my previous 2 razor rotation (boring I know!) using a Fatip Grande and RR German 37 slant. I suppose that's why I retired the others in the first place. Duh.

    Cream: Derby Normal
    Brush: RazoRock Disruptor
    Bowl: Dollar Tree Salsa
    Razor: Edwin Jagger DE87
    Blade: Rapira LUX (2)
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Ice Blue

Razor: Oneblade Core version2- MFG 2018> Great daily driver IMO.
Blade : Gem SS PTFE modified(1)
Soap: Razorock "The Dead Sea"- unique scent with good lather qualities!
Brush: Yaqi Tuxedo knot 24 mm with black marble handle- just a enjoyable brush!
Pre-shave: Brush wash my face CeraVe hand bar soap + a dollop of clear Aloe Vera gel on beard area.
Prep: cold water rinse after each pass of 3.
Post shave: Razorock "The Dead Sea" aftershave with witch Hazel + Nivea balm.
Results : CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers = [IMG] great shave!

Feeling awesome today and loving the sandalwood scent and comforting oils of Proraso AS. BBS 2-pass on 2 days growth. Entering my 3rd month of DE/soap shaving and my lathering skills are improving. Initially I think I was worried about using too much soap, but I load up the brush more, giving me thick, yogurty lather and it enhances the scent strength of the soap as a bonus.

I highly recommend Liquid Neutrogena as a pre-shave wash. I've used it for years for morning and nighttime face washing, however I was switching over to Neutrogena or Nivea Men's Face Wash (in the tube) for my pre-shave routine. Using the liquid Neutrogena I'm finding it provides improved slickness for my soaps- Glycerin is the 2nd ingredient, and it's not as thick as the products specifically made for men.

Pre- Liquid Neutrogena face wash & warm water
    Razor- Gillette flare tip
    Blade- Astra SP
    Brush- Surrey boar
    Soap- Proraso Red
    Bowl- Captain's Choice
Post- cold water rinse & Neutrogena Toner
    AS- Proraso Red

I dig this artwork on the version I have here in the pictures. Not sure why Doug changed the art on the labels. The new labels aren't as cheerful.

***EDIT - 1-Pass + Targeted Clean up. Perfect shave. Zero weepers and zero irritation. BBS

Frank Shaving 28mm G4 - Le Pére Lucien Cologne Fougere - GEM Featherweight/GEM Blue Star - 4711 Cologne

A great result ....but not an enjoyable shave. I wasn't happy with my new FS G4 Brush. It has a large glue bump and is not as comfortable to use as just about any other synthetic I own. I was also using a Gem Blue Star for the first time and it felt VERY rough compared to the more commonly available Stainless blades. There was also too much reaction to the 4711.
