Got 2 interviews this week. Monday and Thursday. Box is going out on Tuesday. Will update when I know more. I think the interview on Monday will be the best chance.
Glad to hear that you've got promising prospects. I'm going through the paperwork for being hired now ..... I'm starting Thursday.
Box went out Thursday. Had planned on Tuesday, but little man got sick. Also, the top, the part that everyone signed was broken upon my turn with the box. Strange, but then again that's about par for our post office here.
I have the box. Lots of room in there right now. I'll post pictures tonight. There is a bag of assorted Gillette Old Type parts which I will start through the restoration process tonight.
@ordinaryshaver I didn't see the posts of your gives or the final list of takes. How did the box change while you had it?
I only took a couple of razors. The aristocrat, a gem Gbar, and the other razor in a box. Only soap was the c&e sandlewood and blades was a tuck if feathers. I tried the vintage Gillette blue blades, but the were Horrible!!!! Gives included various blades, mostly soaps and creams!
I looked through the box in detail. As far as razors go there's not much still in there. Some cheap dollar store razors and 3 Old Type Gillettes in very poor condition. From the photo you posted I show you took at least: 1 - 1970's era Gillette Superspeed - Pictured 1 - Gillette Slim Adjustable - Pictured 1 - Gillette Aristocrat - Pictured 1 - Gillette NEW LC - Pictured 1 - Parker 66R - Pictured 1 - Gold GEM - Mentioned Above 1 - Lady banded Schick razor - Pictured 1 - Vintage Brush - Pictured Plus some vintage AS/Cologne decanters. I'm also not finding the Canadian Tech which was mentioned as a replating candidate earlier in this thread. That's a pretty sweet haul. From what I see you left a few dollar store razors other random no-name brand razors and 3 OT in very poor condition. For those further down in the rotation I'll add some restored razors, replate these OT's, and try to restore some of the box's glory, but @ordinaryshaver pretty much drained the box of all the highly desirable items. I've only been collecting for 6 months or so and don't have the large collection that needs thinning.
I have 3 people that are getting starter kits. One that just expressed interest in using vintage razors, so I thought the OC Gillette would be great for him.
