    I like Aqua Velva aftershave but the powdery smell of Clubman is just too much. It reminds me of that old guy walking in that has just used way too much aftershave.

    Well my wife tells me that black matches everything. So in an effort to match brushes to shave soaps I did pick up the Simpson CH2 synthetic in ebony. Now I’ll be able to coordinate with those hard to match soaps. I wonder what my wife will say about that excuse for self enabling.

    Healing day

    Razor: Gillette Bostonian
    Blade: Kai Stainless (1)
    Brush: MrEE #6
    SS & AS: Stirling Noir

    Having used the shavette 4 days this week I decided to let the irritation settle a little and try a razor and blades I've owned for months and never used.

    I have to say, the Bostonian and Kai combo has rocketed high in my favorites list. Very pleasant shave, BBS everywhere. The Stirling Noir is always a trip down memory lane reminding me of high school dances and tempting me to buy a bottle of Drakkar.

    :drool: Congratulations on a beautiful brush Clint. It will match up with about anything.

    I understand that according to Simpson the correct way to break in one of their new brushes is to soak it over night in Clubman and the first shave needs to be with unbloomed Williams shave soap. ;)
